Time Signatures

For my theory class we're having a little contest to see who could find really sweet/weird time signatures. So far Pink Floyd's "Money" is winning. I used some Blind Guardian songs that change time sigs, but it's a no-go. Anybody know really sweet songs with time signatures other than 4/4 or 2/4?

Well, there may be a passage that is in 7/8, i've read several tabs on it, it was 7/4 as i recall, but maybe i am wrong.

But the song has such a complex rhythmic pattern, that is quite easly to get the time signatures confused.

There is no way someone should mix it up with 7/8. It doesn't even make sense, "Money" isn't the least bit complex...It's 7/4 (most), end of story, you don't know what 7/8 is if you think otherwise. Maybe that's a bit harsh 'cause I guess it's how you count it, but show me how to count "Money" as 7/8 and I'll laugh at you.

Look at my computer help thread's first page. I really don't know how to count time sigs. I do go to stay in 4/4 but if someone wouldn't mind please explain to me (in extremely simple terms) how to tell and read a time signature.

7/4 actually, when Gilmour solos the song goes into 4/4... This was because Gilmour had a hard time composing a solo for a 7 beat form.

Anyway, prog is rarely in 4/4... And the time sig variety is off the map, Crimson have some of the best time signature variety i have ever heard, all of the songs on Larks Tongue's In Aspic makes extensive use of 10/8, Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With is in 11/8 and Cat Food is in 19/8.

Thela Hun Ginjeet has different merabers playing in different time sigs at the same time (primarly 7/8 and 4/4) to create an off ballance effect and a "fragile" beat.

There is no 13/4, you have to draw a line somewhere. It is most probably 7/4 and 6/4 or whatever and I hope 8/5 was a typo. I think the winner for the amount of time signature changes is Dream Theater's "Octavarium." I can't even be bothered with sitting there and counting how many there are.
