Americans & racism? I'm doing a research project in my Sociology class on Racism and Prejudice. I thought it would be interesting to create a time line of key figures and main events that happened throughout history in the struggle involving race. The time line is going to focus more on African American history, and I'm not really sure were I should begin. I mean, I'm going to include slavery, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, etc. but I don't know to much about other events that have really happened. I was hoping somebody could give me some ideas, possibly a few main events that have happened, and some key figures that have attributed to the fight against racism. Any help would be great appreciated!
