Time for a new cell phone . . . But . . .

Hello all. I am a long standing, won't consider changing, Verizon wireless customer. I have a BlackBerry Tour and use it for everything -- except as a cell phone! I know, I know. I've never been able to get used to talking into a waffle.

So I've used a cell phone, just as a cell phone, from the beginning. My current model is a Motorola Razr. I've most often went with Motorola and most often went top of the line. So the Razr is beginning to hit the wall and the two year contract is up now. I looked at the Nokia Intrigue (7205 I think). I called Verizon, one rep said unavailable, another rep said unavailable temporarily and they don't know when it will be available and only until supplied last. All this means the phone is discontinued. Can this be right? I remember this phone just coming out in the past year. I haven't stopped by a retail store yet.

So, what are my options here? Can I get this phone somehow? I don't need a smart-phone, PDA, internet, etc. -- so what quality phones are there for me? The website shows mainly free phones and I am not sure of the quality.

Any advice? Thank you very much in advance.

Since you are a dedicated Verizon customer (like me), you should go to their website:

Cell Phones, 3G Smartphones, Cell Phone Plans, the Best Cell Phone Service - Verizon Wireless

and check under Phones & Accessories - Cell Phones - Simple Feature Phones. Along with descriptions, features, and prices, they have actual customer reviews of the phones.

You could also check more cellphone reviews at: Product reviews and prices, software downloads, and tech news - CNET; narrow your search down to Verizon as the carrier.

The Nokia Intrigue is horrible! Poor construction and very difficult to open one-handed. Shows lots of finger prints, too.... Best choice if you haven't already upgraded is the Samsung Convoy. It is ruggedized, but reasonably priced. Very nice phone. If you don't want all those bells and whistles, then the LG 5600 isn't bad. No SD card or video capabilities, though. The Motorola Entice (766) is my "go-to" phone for folks not wanting a complicated phone, but one that is inexpensive and reliable. Hope this helps. :)
