Thundercats live action movie

I was watching a repeat of G4techtv's Attack Of The Show and they said that there's a thundercats movies in the works, no real details were given. But hey I thought this might note worthy news.

So what's left from the 80's that hasn't been turned into a movie already?

Well, there's also supposed to be a new He-Man movie in the works. Basically, all we need is a Jem movie, a G.I. Joe movie, a M.A.S.K. movie and a She-Ra movie and we'll have all the 80's icons covered for a Hollywood butchering.

.....(doubles over onto the floor laughing)

So any new word on the Thundercats animated series? Seems like nothing has been said about that in a while.

I think what he meant was GI Joe was about American Soldiers fighting in a war (like against cobra). And I think that would stir up more anti-american terrorists to start another 9/11.

Well the AOTS crew said live action so I ran with that. But who knows its so early in production it may go either way. Don't forget with something like thundercats if you were to do it as a live action movie you would need to have a lot of CGI effects so maybe it will a live action movie with heavy CGI or just a CGI movie but hey as long as I can see the thundertank on the big screen I'll be happy.

Reviving this thread with my shooting-from-the-hip cast:
DIRECTOR: Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) or Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember)

LION-O: Right now I'm leaning towards Scott Speedman

CHEETARA: Moon Bloodgood

PANTHRO: Vin Diesel is the only one

TYGRA: There may be better choices out there, but I'll take Jamie Bamber ("Battlestar Galactica")

JAGA: Frank Langella. Seriously, how awesomely poetic would that be?!

WILYKAT & WILYKIT: Look no further than Remy & Bella Thorne (13 & 12 respectively)

They've appeared on various tv shows since '06. They're gonna be big.

MUMM-RA: Please oh please oh please Ron Perlman (as both forms)
castmummra.jpg

If they want to make it interesting, they could have Doug Jones play Mumm-ra's decayed form, but I'm sure Perlman could nail both.

Thoughts?

That casting call was actually pretty good Jordacar, the only one I would change was your pick for Mum-Ra, I am not a fan of that guy at all lol. I love the pick for Cheetara though, hubba hubba.

Might as well cast the rest, with the new season 2 TCats and the Mutants:

Ken Watanabe as Lynx-o

As for the other New TCats, I'll take Michelle Rodriguez as (the criminally underused) Pumyra

If I may say, finding the perfect actor to play Bengali is nigh-impossible. That said, I think Penn Badgley could do a good job.

Casting the Mutants is a bit of a challenge, but it also allows one to go a little crazy, since casting monsters is a very inexact science.

Lee Arenberg (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) as Slythe
castslythe.jpg

Seriously, he looks like Slythe's human twin!

Dash Mihok (PUNISHER: WAR ZONE) as Monkian
castmonkian.jpg

He also played (or mo-capped) the Alpha Male in I AM LEGEND, so he's got that going for him.

For Jackalman, how about go-to thug character actor Kevin Corrigan (THE DEPARTED, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS)

Vultureman...well, I certainly don't know who would be perfect, but I'll take Andrew Tiernan (Ephialtes in "300") for starters.

And for the grand finale:
Michael Clarke Duncan as Grune the Destroyer, of course

There, I am done with casting this show. No more for me please :crying::crying::crying:
