Yesterday,myself and 4 co-workers went for a ride.We left Halifax early in the morning and took the ferry to PEI.Had lunch in Charlottetown,and took the bridge to NB.On an off ramp going in to Moncton at 4pm the traffic was completely stopped in 34C heat.Things were getting kinda warm so we all shut our bikes off.When things started moving I hit the start button,and nothing happened.
The dials were acting strangely and the idiot lights were very dim and the odometer was flashing.The light relay was chattering too.Then the alarm started screaming.Checked the battery connections and various others,everything seemed clean and secure.
So I called my home dealer, Privateers in Halifax,250kms away.They had a few suggestions,but no luck.He told me he would get back to me in a few minutes.When my cell rang it was Toys for Big Boys in Moncton,about 20kms away.They said their truck was on the way.
In 20 minutes the truck arrived and she was loaded on the back.So now we are on our way across town with my bike in the back with the signal lights flashing,not a pretty sight,at least the alarm had stopped squacking.
They took her immediatly in the busy service dept and tested the battery.It was toast.Dropped in a new one,and sent me on my way.No charge to me.
The bike is still under warranty,it won't be a year old untill next week,but I still feel that this was very good service from both dealers.I feel they both deserve a thumbs up.

Very nice to hear that 2 dealers are working together , ? being your battery was only a yr old did they have and suggestions why it went bad ?. Did they check the starting system. Just dont hear of batterys going bad that often,
 
Gotta love these "good news" stories for a change. See too many negative posts & I know there are alot of awesome dealerships out there (more good vs. bad). Glad they hooked you up, literally.
 
Yes,they checked,it is not over charging,everything else is working great.It was just one of those things,but i'll be keeping an eye on it.
 
After arriving in Pigeon Forge Tenn Monday afternoon on our 06 Ultra Classic, I started hearing a rattling noise which seemed to be in the front of the engine...too many other noises to locate this one...thought it might be a lose header pipe....by Tuesday afternoon the noise got louder so I took it in to the Smokey Mtn Harley Dealer Wednesday morning and the guy working the service desk told me to pull it up on the sidewalk outside the door, he grabbed his tool set and came out to listen....about two minutes later, he handed me a washer he pulled out from under the intake cover and the noise was eliminated...no charge, and no warranty service, just good people doing good things.
 
Thanks for posting a positive Thread about good Dealers. I'm sure there are far more good dealers than bad. I know some good ones myself!!!
 
It's always good to hear good dealer stories espcially when you hear so many bad ones. I have 4 dealers within 50 miles and 2 are excellent 2 not so good.
 
Good to hear that there are some good dealers out there that go out of their way to get you up and running and back on the road.

Just wanted to add to your post. My buddy John, works at Privateer's in the service dept, not a wrench but a service writer. An excellent guy and he works with a bunch of excellent people at this dealer. Myself and 4 good friends were out in the Maritime's 1 month ago and he managed to get all of our bikes in for oil changes. One of the guys in the group was having problems with the rear spoke wheel on his 02 Ultra. Hub was out of round, anyways they called all over the place but no one had one and we had a tight schedule, so we carried on. A very awesome dealership; would like to visit Toys for Big Boys if I ever get out their again. Nice to hear positive stories like yours about dealer's....
