Throwing up every morning

My wife throws up a bit every morning. She wakes up feeling very nauseous. We are 1000% sure she's not pregnant (many tests done). She throws up some spit, or bile, etc. but not food.

This is causing her to slip into depression. This has been going on for about a year now.

We've been to many doctors and gotten a lot of tests done. Apparently everything is normal with her...but it doesn't feel that way.

Have any of you heard of something like this? What do you think it could be?

Instructoac,

Hi, and welcome to the HealthBoards...

I must admit, I have the very same thing happen to me every morning! I wake up, and I am OK until I stand up...then I throw up bile. Once that's over with, I go on about my day.

I have a few serious health issues that require me to take 8 medications every night before bed, and I have just racked the throwing up to the medications sitting in my empty stomach every night. Does your wife take medication at night?

I have not asked my doctor about this, but would also like to know if anyone else has. I have had recent endoscopy/colonoscopy (for unrelated pelvic pain) with no significant findings, and there is no way I am pregnant either.

I am interested in what the other posters have to say about this...thanks for asking!

No, she does not take any medications the night before.

I've also experimented with giving her different types of food, no food, etc... the nausea and puking persists.

Wow, how frustrating!

I certainly don't like throwing up every morning, but at least I have something to link it to...and I throw up very easily other times too, sometimes at just the thought of something, the sight of something. I have severe kidney disease, and major issues with blood pressure, so I am used to "side-effects" by now, and this is not the worst of them.

I applaud you for your diligence in trying to help your wife. I wish I had more information to offer you, but I only have my experience to go on. I know many people on the boards have much more experience, and I hope they will offer you some more helpful information.

I will be reading along, because I would like to learn too.

I am in the same situation. I have had 2 heart attacks and have 4 stints in my arteries but I have never had this situation before. I did go through depression last year and was hospitalized in a mental hospital for a while but I have worked through that situation. I have been throwing up every morning for the last 2 years straight, sometimes 4 or 5 times in the morning and then after that I am OK. There have been times where I have thrown up during the day but that has happened only a couple of times. I do not know what to do about it. I do have bad night sweats and I can only sleep and hour and a half at a time, so that means if I go to bed around 8:00PM I will wake up 7 times during the night. I just don't know what to do. I do think about ending my life just to get over this cycle I am in, I hate it.
