[h=3]Associated Press[/h]NEW YORK — Thousands of New Yorkers have shown their support for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings in a four-mile run in Central Park.
Sunday's Run for the Parks was already planned before the attacks Monday that killed three and injured scores.
Organizers sold "I Run for Boston" T-shirts with proceeds going to the One Fund Boston, the official fund for those affected by the bombing.
More than 6,000 runners finished the race.
CEO Mary Wittenberg of the New York Road Runners called it "a powerful morning."
Other "Run for Boston" events have taken place around the U.S. and the world.
Sunday's London Marathon started with tributes to the Boston victims with a moment of silence.
The London event was the first major race since the twin bombings in Boston.
