thoughts on new APC

So I am a huge maynard fan, hell my dogs name is maynard. Any way I have seen him live 5 times, needless to say he is a demigod in my book. So right off the bat I have disproportionate (sp?) views of anything new he puts out. I have heard alot of people bashing the album (emotive), saying how he wrecked alot of the songs.... I can't help but take this personally. First off its a concept album, right on the label it tells you what its about, peace, war, and greed. Secondly this album proves he is one of the most vesitle vocalist/song writers MY generation has ever seen. Lastly, this just means that the next tool album will kick ass that much more, (that is, him having gotten some of the lighter stuff out of the way). You are free to discuss...

I liked the album for what it was made to be. Now if this was going to be their regular cd, and not the politicaly motivated cd that it was, i would be a little bit dissapointed. as stated previoulsy, this just goes to show how great of an artist Maynard really is, and i too can't wait for the new Tool stuff, it is going to be amazing.

when is this "new tool stuff" slated to be happening? i read somewhere that maynard has somewhat lost interest in tool, and had more plans for apc than he did for tool. hugely disappointing, i think, even though i am a huge fan of both.

if you're expecting an album which is great because it's new APC stuff, then you'll be disappointed. eMotive is great, but it's not groundbreaking or anything. it definitely makes you sad to be an american...

im a tool and apc fan. but the new album just doesnt cut it for me. in my opinion its too soft. hey dont take it personal if people dont like the new album.everyone is entitled to an opinion

it is very soft, but APC isn't tool. this album wasn't intended to be new APC stuff, it's a cover album - one saturated with political opinion. that's what maynard intended the album to be - a string of anti-war ballaRAB.

i love tool and apc, but this new album dissapointed me. he has such a great voice and i think some of the songs weren't focused on enough. he really did fuck Imagine in the ass...i was so excited to hear him do that song
