thomson or thomas cook shorthaul seat width?

Just wondering what everyone thinks to this one. Am planning on travelling to Turkey from Manchester and not sure who to book the holiday with. We went with Thomas Cook last year and were both pretty cramped in the seats. Just wondering if anyone has had a better experience with Thomson. I'll never be a skinny minnie, but I'm seriously trying to lose some weight to make the flying experience more comfortable if we have to book with Thomas Cook again, as it seems their seats are only designed for the very thin
