I sat my Highers in 5th year at school and only passed one subject. I took the same subjects in 6th year but I f****d around too much and only ended up sitting one final exam (Computing) which I failed.
I went to college (to do the same thing) but I ended up getting kicked out after 3 months for drinking too much.. I went back the next year but had to leave after around the same amount of time because of financial difficulties, I don't think I attended college any year long enough to be registered to take the final exam, so it was kinda just like dropping the subjects..
So i've never actually sat any final exams for these subjects since 5th year, If i went back to college and got really good grades (which tbh anything less than A's would be embarrassing in my position) will any university I apply too be able to see how many times I have been doing my Highers, or would they just be seeing a 4 year gap in my education?
I'm planning on telling them I decided to take some time out to figure out what I wanted to do first, and gained some work experience in the meantime (which i have) But I read a lot of universities ask older students for more entry requirements than is usually required, especially since my Standard Grades (GCSEs) are dated 2004, and my Highers would have 2010 on them or something..
I'm also wondering how my UCAS points will be or have been affected. I'm 21 so I now qualify as a mature student, thanks.
