This what I am looking for

Hello everyone. I owned a Siemens SX66, but it broke this weekend. I am out of warranty so I am looking for a new phone. I was going to wait around for the ipaq 6940, but I don't think it is ever coming out. This is what is important for me when I am looking for a phone:

1) Quick web browsing and ability to see all of the pages.
2) Music Tones
3) Ability to use AIM and YIM.
4) Having my calendar, contacts and phone all in one device (PDA phone)
5) reliable stable phone that does not need to be reset every day.
6) Bluetooth is important but not all that important.

**I am on a Cingular contract with 10 months left so that limits my flexibility**

I have been looking at the Cingular 8125, Blackberry 8700, and like I said above, I have been waiting for the hp 6940 ipaq.

Any help would be appreciated.

I use the 8700 and love it. I use both the data and the phone alot and it functions very well. I split between the handset and bluetoth for phone and both work fine. I have not had to reset it yet and have been using for about a month. There are quite a few free music tone sites for BB users. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. Am I able to use AIM and YIM on this phone? Also, this is on the "Blackberry OS" correct? I forgot to say that I have some software that I used for my Siemens SX66 that is compatible with Microsoft Office that I would like to use on my next phone.

I use this website all the time when comparing phones and features.

You basically only have 3 choices from Cingular

1 Blackberry 8700c
2 HTC 8125
3 HP Ipaq HW 6510/6515

click here to compare them side by side.

You may want to think about switching carriers. I know it will cost about $175.00 to $200.00 to cancel, but you will make up that in savings when buying a phone with a plan online.

Here is a list of some of the websites I have found that offer these type of deals.

www.phonedog.com
www.lowermybills.com
www.myrteplan.com
www.consumersearch.com
www.wirefly.com
www.letstalk.com

just to name a few...

If you do decide to switch, I would have to suggest either the Treo 700w or the Motorola Q from Verizon.

Good luck
