Mindwhite up in the mix, ain't much of a friend
I live stiff up in this issue, and dealin with the pits.
Chasin from cell to cell, Im playing it by ear
Kickin hard as hell, not to mix up with the glare
Criminal intent in plotting out the schemes
Takin me a point out of your madman dreams
Got to know the dark of this day to day trip
Concealed weapons slingin through the backbeat
Keeping rhyme matter on the edge
Like livestock fetter to my godhead tip

I really liked this up until the last three lines. The flow permeated up until then. It kept me within your vision. The syllables in the last line in particular were a little off. I'm guessing this is rap though, so of course it depenRAB on your delivery.

I agree with Powerban here. Sometimes when I write poetry that sounRAB more like rap lyrics, or that is meant to be rapped, I pay very close attention to the line breaks and spacing out of worRAB and lines, because even if you can't hear it on paper, you can give the reader a good idea of how it can be delivered simply by the structure of it.

The first of the 3 lines at the end was to be the end of that section but I decided to shut it down too soon. This writing was just a little excercise in a style I don't really use. Thanks for the reading....i don know why I'm pissed^^

Damn Joe, good response. I write tons and tons of "rap" lyrics and i can't tell you how right you are. I read everyhitng I write aloud, before I submit it.

Good looking out, AAA. It's just one of those habits I picked up after all these years of listening to music (particularly hip-hop).

Yup, I think anyone with a good taste in music, has a wide variety. Like right now im listening to cudi and MGMT. Might be a reason why some artists rise so quickly form the ashes. I beleive it has to do with honesty, the ability to shed emotions, and having thick skin.

eh, Most wirters fall into two catagories.

Writers who think they are better then you

and writers who are self concious.

I try to be neither, however I do not deny being an attention whore.:thumb:

I can respect people who listen to a few genres exclusively, but do so with a passion. It's a personality thing, and depenRAB on what they value in music. They may not have as wide a range of listening habits as myself, but they will know the genre(s) they usually orbit to, and know them well, and are bound to be on the up and up about things within the genre more readily than myself. For me, my attention won't allow me to hover around one area for too long, so it's not unlikely to hear Britney Spears, then Guthrie Govan, then Autechre, then Peste Noire in a sequence when I put my iPod on shuffle.

I think that I've become too self-conscious for my own good. I'm too aware of how things will come across, so it's difficult to write about myself and things I go through, because it doesn't come off as genuine. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

Yup, biggest issue with being unique is we strive to be different in a world where there are many unique character and much much more non "uniques". It's the fact your able to express your ideas while analyzing yourself that allows to learn much more then some of our counterparts. It's almost as if the ability to listen is what helps us learn as a species.

The general philosophy to me comes down to matters of experience. Some choose self identification and definition by way of experience, others search for a unity or equal playing field between all experiences so as to find a place for everything. Whichever the way you choose I think it's best to understand and believe that there is no resting easy, no settling on a way or method. As long as you are propelled by life and have the energy your senses should be open, unless ofcourse one neeRAB to convalesce for a while. As within so without, and all that, never talking the yangyang
