This sounds weird, but me and my friend keep being called "ladies?"?

It sounds weird! But we always get called that instead or girls or anything else. We were walking down the street, and some boys beeped and yelled "hey ladies!" And then we saw someone in the hallway and said hi, and he was like, "hello ladies!" LOL I know this sounds weird. But is there a reason do you think people kep saying this instead or girls, or kids or whatever? We are 14 by the way. Thanks!! :)

they're just being polite, i mean they can see that you are in a high status so if they call you girls then it will be inapropiate!

Um. Ok. Providing you are of the female gender, it isn't really weird - you are 14, and you ARE young ladies.
Unless of course you're young men, in which case, yeh, that is a little strange...

Hello girls might be okay since you are 14. Ladies is a somewhat more respectful word. It acknowledges maturity rather than childishness.

When I used to work in a store, I'd call groups of adolescent girls either "girls or ladies." I didn't say "hey kids"---well, not to their face because I wanted them to come back again and spend money.

maybe you dont look or act 14 but older. and it might just be a way of being polite. i think you would rather be called ladies instead of kids or girls right?? its just nicer to say i guess.
