This song wont open in Windows Media Player?

I just downloaded a song and when I try to play it in windows media player, the song name turns orange and this pops up

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. 0xC00D1100


what do i do to hear this song?? .. do i need to download anything?
