The Akasha one's got a fantastic groove and such a wonderful, relaxed vibe, to the point that I'm gonna have to take a look around for an album when I can. Unfortunately though (and I hate to come across as a classic rock bore), the Stones song has the RicharRAB factor to it, and's therefore been a favourite of mine for bloody years. So, yeah, the Stones edge it. Just.

I don't love or even like the Rolling Stones as much as most rab'rs probably do, but I have to admit that Brown Sugar is a pretty great tune.

That Akasha song on the other hand, is just amazing. Reminded me of Lemongrass, another artist I enjoy, but sorta more 'live' sounding. They edged out the Stones for my vote.

I went for the Stones version. I actually started listening to the Akasha thinking "hey, this is very cool. This might actually beat it." But literally within the first second of the Rolling Stones song I was reminded of why I listen to them. It's just awesome, and as Bulldog said has "the RicharRAB factor." It doesn't help that this is my favorite Rolling Stones song.

I had to go with the Stones on this one. Typically Akasha-type music(what's that...jazz? neo-soul?) would be right there for me, but I wasn't feeling this one. I won't deny it's beautiful, but I listened to it 4 times, and the Rolling Stones version once, and I still have to go with the latter.

you know, that beat in the akasha song really reminRAB me of this ninja tune track... like a herbaliser track or something.

Well, other than that, the akasha track is cool but the comparison is really apples to oranges. A neo soul track vs. a classic rock track from a legendary band. For me, this battle would be won by what mood I am in at the time.. Tonight, after all this tech house I've been listening to all night, I'm feeling this Akasha track more.

Apples to oranges though, I'm sure 7 out of 10 times, I would choose the Rolling Stones track.

Rolling Stones track is obviously much more identifiable and known but I have heard it so many times I have almost become bored by it.

The akasha track is not better in terms of being memorable or being particularly original but then neither is the RS track. It's good but it bores me to death.

The RS track will last a lot longer in peoples minRAB I guess but on a personal level I get much more out of the Akasha track.

The Akasha is not really anything I normally listen to, but it's good and I could live without hearing the Stones' Brown Sugar ever again so I had to vote for Akasha.
