Wow, isn't everything perfect and simple in the world your living in?

What a fucking idiot. Internet = once a month, food = few times daily. Very easy to pay ISP bill and then have no funds for food/whatever later in month. That's my world.

I think the underlying problem is Dunamis is a scientologist.

I'm not choosing to...I'm bipolar...

"Hi! I'm a starving kid in Ethiopeia, minutes from death, because rich people in the U.S. won't send us food...OH LOOK! A SHINY PEBBLE! YAY! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE! I AM HAP...*Dies*"

BOOM! GUTSHOT!

True. That's what I tend to do, but for some it's not so simple. So to paint a simple picture for all is unfair.

I know. I'm just bustin' your chops.

I'm sorry. Are you feeling depression for the starving kid in Ethiopia?

My point is that most of the threads in this section are whiny and full of shit. I understand that there are exceptions. Mental disorders are an exception.

Just out of curiosity, how often do you send food over to Ethiopia? And, if you do, what do you think the odds are that it will really save a person?

Your missing my fucking point. THATS NOT TRUE. annnnnnnnd thats not what you originally said. you just realized how assanine your original statement was and switched it around somehow through the posts.

Ok let me sum up a lot of arguments:

First of all, you claim that reading our current situations are just knee-slappingly hilarious. Most of the time, they're really not. Understand that some people really do have problems that are past the immature myspace drama, and really just need to be dealt with by hearing feedback. Which brings me to my second point:

You bring up the argument that having enough money to afford an internet connection would enable an individual to find happiness. So if I can afford a pool in my back yard, and yet hypothetically my dad has left my life forever and won't talk to me again; will a diving board make everything better? No.

Third, yes, it is true if you can afford an internet connection, which is only a mere $9.95-$25 a month, you can easily sustain a full stomach. But choosing to live a horrid existence isn't really something that anyone would do. Do you think people wake up in the morning and say, "I want to be raped today. Wouldn't that just make things absolutely horrible? And then I can talk about it on WTF.com!" Of course not. People come here to talk about these things because releasing anxiety is a very good feeling and sometimes it's hard to talk to people whom you deal with every single day about your life.

Yes, if you have some money in your pocket you can get counseling and therapy but really, resources and capital don't help. Serious mental problems don't disappear by contemplating about yourself and viewing therapists. It takes a lot of time to deal with those things. Simply having $$$ and a composition notebook doesn't cure Bipolar Disorder.

I have had such problems.

I have been through such things.

I will admit that I am a better person for them.

However, I eventually worked out of that stage myself. I choose to live an unhappy but not depressed life. Neutrality is important to me.

That's all.

Hey Dunamis, say a child is getting beat, molested, threatened, excluded, starved...gee! Good thing that child still has the Internet! You should still be happy because the Internet is much more important than all those other things!
