this riddle took me ages to work out?

a business man is about to board a flight to go on a business trip, one of his employees goes to his boss and says " i had a dream last night that you will die if you go on the flight, dont do it!" the business man decides not to fly, sure enough the plane crashes and everyone onboard dies, the business man tells his employee: "thanks for saving my life, you're fired!"
why did he fire his employee?
 
He was on night shift the previous night and supposed to be awake, not dreaming?
 
the employee was a night shift worker and was not suppose to be sleeping

good one,really had me thinking
 
Actually, I think the correct riddle was that it was the businessman's night watchman who said it and not his employee. And the answer is that the businessman fired him because instead of staying awake and guarding, the watchman was asleep and dreaming.
 
Was he fired because he was asleep at night and should have been awake and working the night shift?
