I'm married to a South American educated woman. I have an issue, she will not compromise if I want to go see a baseball game. She will not go and she will not let me go. Her reason, she is away from the things she likes to do and she will not go to a baseball game b/c she thinks its stupid. We travel and I have been in her country and tried everything. Is this unreasonable. I don't want to even mention what she thinks of happy hours. Is this a reason to not continue. Should I have to give up even going once or twice in a season to watch a baseball game with my coworkers?
 
Are you required to be together all the time? I you've made that agreement, I guess she's right. Otherwise, of course she's being unreasonable. She won't let you go to happy hour, either?

I don't think it's cultural, I think she's just incredibly controlling, and you cave in to it.
