Update, got a call after leaving a note to the nurse for her to discuss woth the Neurologist and got a return call finally after buggin them again, they gave me a choice that itheir within a week i could have another MRI with contrast or refer me to the Closest University. For now because of how leg pain is so bad that my toes curl up when i walk wich like hubby says not being a dr, and being very patient with me and all thats gone on says it seems and is like it's a nerve and even though i know it's getting the tests done to see exactly whats going on. So as you can guess i opted for the new recent MRI, i have heard third time can be the charm and i have never had it with the contrast, so although very much in agony kinda relieved at the same time, it will be scheduled in a week or less yeah! And in the meantime because for some reason even though i should be used to it after two or so in a life time i get really anxious but i see my Dr. this Monday and hopefully she can prescribe something to relax me before hand because i want to be a still as possible right? Right? As i posted about the Caudia angina thing, i am worried as when they do find a cause is the whatever treatment outcome is there gonna be permanent damage as i have / they have let it go for so long because i didn't tell them info due to the needing to make sure it wasnt nothing GI related, but i have hope because the signs of the Caudia angina is intemitent so this may be good right, if thats what it is? Thanks for being my support group!

Dear Monkey, I wish you luck with your MRI! Hopefully this one will show more detail. How does that MRI with contrast work? Do they inject the dye, and then you wait a period of time before doing the MRI? I hope they can pinpoint the problem so that you can get some options of what to do. I hate that not knowing what exactly is wrong, it is so stressful! Sending good thoughts your way! Kera4

kera, gosh i hope this is the key to treatment at least some answers and maybe some relief! I looked up the dye and from what i understand is they injest it and take pictures right after, but when i had a bone scan done years ago i had to go back in like two hourse and have it done, but i think they do it right away and in some cases they will explain results afterwarRAB depending. Thanks for your thoughts i need em!

That's right. The technician will inject the dye at some point during the MRI and the test will continue. Before you begin the procedure, the technician will start an IV line. The dye will be introduced to your body through the IV line. If I remeraber correctly, some people will feel a sudden warmth come over them at the time of the injection. Some people feel like they have wet themselves. They didn't; it just feels this way. It's a weird feeling, but perfectly normal!!

Good luck. I hope this will provide the answers you are looking for.

SounRAB good monkey. It sounRAB like they are on to something. I am still praying for ya.

Well, I was wrong in what I told you. I had an MRI this morning for the lurabar section of the spine. My doc said I wouldn't need contrast, but the technician told me this morning that I was having contrast...and that they didn't like to do MRIs on people who'd just had surgery...blah, blah, blah.

So they did the MRI about 3/4 of the way -- pulled me out of the tube and did a procedure that they said was like "drawing blood" except it went in just below my elbow and was put directly in. They didn't call it a shot, and I couldn't see what they were doing...it seemed to take awhile to get it all in -- didn't hurt, and there was no flushed feeling--certainly no IV line, etc. It was a very easy procedure except that you're lying on that skinny little table and there's no place to rest your arm when they're adding the "contrast."
