This might make some of you laugh but was Abraham Lincoln half black?

A friend of mine says that Obama wasnt the first black president. It was in fact Abraham Lincoln. Is this true? If it isnt (which juding by the pics Im sure it isnt), do you have any idea where he got this from? or.... is he just an idiot?
 
I've heard this before but I don't really think it's true. I've heard that alot of people say this because Lincoln had slaves but also abolished slavery and supported slaves' rights
 
Your friend is a tool, look how much Obama had to struggle to get votes in this political climate, what do you think would've happened if he tried the same thing even 40 years agi
 
Not sure but one thing is sure, many had slaves and also had sex with them and fathered children !
 
no thats not true. He probably got it from the fact that Lincoln was known for giving blacks priviledges that Whites did not aggree with at the time.
 
Not true in the slightest. Abraham Lincoln was the son of Nancy Hanks and Thomas Lincoln, both white.

i'm mixed, and you'd think i'm white. so you can't tell by appearance.
but lincoln was racist.
he did not free slaves, he did free slaves of secessionists.
and he did that with trepidation.
if the south had not seceded, he would not have emancipated anybody, or be remembered, or be important.
as it is, he is one of the greatest presidents, and possibly one of the most important men in history. the south, the war, made him. he rose to the occasion. and he gave some of the greatest and most awesome speeches ever.
he faced the toughest challenge any POTUS has ever faced, and he took the most extreme measures. and he balanced it all with a code for "just war" that is so simplistic and absolute it should be the law of all the lands of all wars.

There still isn't a first Black President. Technically Obama is the first mixed race President, his mother being white and his father Black which I feel is going to make him a successful President. He is striving for unity in American and what better person to do so than the son of both races. Lincoln was white. His appearance has raised many questions about what disease he suffered from, not his race.
 
No, and Lincoln hated blacks. For him they were just a tool to give morality to his immoral war crimes.

Your friend may be speaking in metaphorical terms.

In the 1850s and 1860s, the Republican Party was referred to by its detractors as the "Black Republicans" because they were perceived as being in favor of rights for African Americans, in addition to being an anti-slavery party.

Lincoln's genealogy has been examined in great detail and there is no evidence whatsoever that he had a black ancestor.
