This is why I probably won't buy the N95....

Yeah, hope so... The e50 is not so bad actually, just that I felt in 2 years, there should have been a lot more development on s60, in terms of speed, stability and features, which not being there, sort of disappointed me. As I said, I should have taken the time to do my homework properly on this thing but my 7610 having failed, I was in need of another s60 phone in a hurry. With 16m colour screens / v3fp1 around the corner (n76), and I am still a bit hesitant to spend another $250, I estimate it may cost me on the upgrade from e50 to n73.
 
Then that's why Nokia is behind the times once again. I still believe though that it's marketing and not the inability or unavailability that's stopping them.
 
I will skip. Basically I need a Qwerty keyboard. As I am very mobile and I am sick and tired of the small screen and T9, even for short messages.

Aside from that, I have to say that after reading the stats, for what the phone has, the battery life will be pretty sad. Not N80 sad, but up there... or rather down there. For something like the N95 with media, data and GPS everything the battery should be at least 1350-1500mAh at least.

Once again, we are left with the same stupid Nokia notion of throwing everything in along the kitchen sink (at the time) and then give it a pathetic sub-1000mAh battery. Like come on!

Hence why, I will skip AND defect to HTC for either a Cavalier --when it comes out-- or a TyTN.

We all know what will happen. Some people will buy the N95. They will shout from the highest mountain that is the best phone ever invented. After a little months and the shock of owning a shiny piece of equipment passes. Everybody with b*tch about the batter life. Some will claim that the battery life will be "acceptable" if you don't use the phone that much or if you recharge it everywhere you go. Just like N80.
 
Very good point Ago. I was thinking he same thing. Everybody is just too excited about the N95 with all its features. After some time of usage more and more complains will come from the owners. Right now, excitement outweighs the reality but reality is going to come. Battery life is too weak. Picture quality is a little dissapointing as well as video in low light conditions. I'm also one of the few guys who prefer pixel density over bigger screen.
 
i dont know iam on the fence to, not because of what it doesnt or does have! i just wanna see what are the problems with it first. but iam more on the iam gonna get side going on how angel said that its pritty stable besides the gps. b4 i get it am gonna wait alil longer so the price goes down, plus i wanna see the e90 or if the n99 is real!!
 
I'm still on board but like the OP said, if I could use the N93 (or i) then I would probably pass on the N95 as well. Quad band is really the kicker for me....GPS is a novelty but Tv-out, 30fps video, wi-fi, and of course the camera are what's most important to me. I think the N73 and N93 take really really nice photos so a couple extra pixels arent that big of a deal to me. The N75's camera is decent (as see from Rcaddens examples) but i really need a good solid camera for fulltime use. Most people will flame me for saying that and tell me to buy a digital (which I obviously have) but I rarely ever have a camera with me and always have my phone.
 
The ongoing Nokia/Qualcomm dispute might make it tough for us N.A. users to get any 3G love, unless it's a specifically designed model for a N.A. carrier.

I have a feeling that Nokia doesn't want to pay Qualcomm any more royalties then they have to (by adding HSDPA 850/1900 to the N95), especially since it isn't designed for the N.A. market like the N75.
 
I skipped the 80s just to see what this offers, my main concern is the Nav feature working in NA but so far no one has been able to answer this, so i wait but will most likely end up getting it anyhow
 
yikes... the n93.. great keypad... but the size is terrible.. the cam is also weak too and the form factor yuck... just my opinion....

the n93i doesn't look much better still too big...

the n95 is the perfect size.. for a highend phone imo.. and actually feels like a small phone.. and even feels smaller then the n80

i'm not skipping it depsite the fact that i think the build quality will be crap
but i'll be waiting for the price to drop.. nokias mini computers aren't worth more then laptops
 
It doesn't matter if they make their own, they still have to pay Qualcomm royalties for use of the patented technology (in N.A.). This was a big reason Nokia ditched N.A. CDMA, and a big reason we probably won't see that many N.A. UMTS/HSDPA bands added on phones not intended for this market. Every attempt Nokia has made at making a N.A. 3G phone has been for a carrier (specifically Cingular).

All of us that buy imported phones will have to be satisfied with EDGE until Nokia and Qualcomm resolve their dispute, which probably won't happen anytime soon.
 
I wonder if there would be a way to use yahoo messenger or windows live to do video chat with this as well..that looks neat.
