This is why I probably won't buy the N95....

If you used the N80, you'd understand. The battery life is almost laughable, the camera takes blurry stills (unless you have the ability to stop all movement in your body momentarily. . .including your circulation ), the video was god-awful, and, for me at least, the screen is too small as compared to the new QVGA screens on the new models. The N95 is a huge step from the N80, but, an even larger step from the 7610.

Yes, I think I tend to agree, having got a very small screen on the e50, the high res makes the font too small. I have managed to do without wi-fi all this time, I think I can manage for some time more. It does seem that out of the current crop, if I do want to change my e50, the n73 seems the way to go. Better battery life, faster phone, better screen.

Or otherwise wait at least 6 to 8 months till the 16m 2.2 or 2.4" colour screens become commonplace with s60v3 fp2 or 3 or s60v4.

sandeep, if the N73 doesn't handle your contacts and everything else you'd like it to properly with appropriate speed, then I apologize for going back and forth with you this whole time.

But if it does, as it should, you're going to hug and thank me.

Ok first of all I have the N93, and coming from the N80 to N93 is not really a dramatic difference, and so is the same with the N95. The only real thing is GPS, and its not like I could have bought a better performing GPS unit.

I see this as history repeating, this is just like when the N80 was being released at the same time and everybody goes crazy, but the thing is that in september they always have something better, jus like when in Q1 they released the N80 and in september the N93/n73.
So, for me to go crazy now and buy the N95 and go crazy again in september and buy I would be doing Nokia a big favor. So If everything goes as planned, and I don't fall in the urge of buying this thing I'll hang to my N93 and buy the latest and greatest in sept, it will for sure be better.
Besides the N93 may be big, but it's more of a headturner than the N80 ever was, even more than what the N95 will ever be. Bsides they keys are so comfortable and I like the way it transforms. So can you imagine something linthe N93 form-factor but with N95 features and
evenmore???? Enough reason to skip the N95.
Any one with me?

I'm skipping, but for other reasons, that I'm sure by now are well known on the forums. US 3G. It's so pathetic to me that Nokia can't even toss us SOMETHING with it, I don't care if it was a re-engineered 6620, I just want that 3G goodness in the States.

I'm sticking with my N73 for quite a while. In fact, I just ordered the black ME housing from CNN this morning. The N73, imo, is like the new 6620. It's solid, full featured, and compact (the 6620 was those things when it was launched).

I agree, though. 3GSM is right around the corner, and I have a feeling that there's going to be several more Nokias coming out soon.

Wirelessly posted (Series 60: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; Nokia E61/0618.06.05; 9730) Opera 8.65 [en])

my initial reaction was to pass on the n95... I could care less about gps and am not a huge fan of the slider form factor. Now, seeing the screen 'in the flesh' so to speak has made me consder it a little deeper. However, the price is going to be absolutely ridiculous for a while, and i'm not sure i can justify it for a single device. I also would like to see the e90 first (though i'm sure it will be outrageously priced as well). With current and rumored models taken into acct, i will most likely go for an n73 + n800 combination instead... But we will see!

I might also skip.. as there aren't any major differences between N80ie to N95, except GPS & 5MP Camera. I already have tomtom6 with holux GPS receiver which works very well with my n80ie. Battery life is not going to be any better in N95 from n80. USB & 3.5mm are nice to have. So, for me it's not worth spending > $700 for it.

i will most likely get N95, coz i dont have any n-series anymore... sold my n73... and none of the reasons listed here are able to change my mind, well not yet anyway... perhaps when i see the price...

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I will pass on the N95 as well. The fact that it is not geared (at the present time) for the US market has really turned me off lately. I will stick with my N93 and wish that at some point this year something better than the N95 comes out and also that it will be geared for the US market

Agreed. Although it's a sexy beast in its own right, there just isn't enough of a performance or technology gap for me to consider one at it's current price.

That and I've become a qwerty junkie.

I have no desire to get an N95. I remember when I first heard of the N80, I about fell out of my chair...the same did not happen for me when the N95 was announced. I currently use an N80ie, and, it seems to be doing a very good job. Also, if I had an N93, I wouldn't even consider the N95. At all.

I'm really not that shocked that a lot of people haven't jumped on the N95 bandwagon. There is just something about it that is like (shrugs) -

I'm still on the fence about skipping this one. My argument is that it may be an all-in-one, but all of those things it does aren't up to par with decent separate devices that do the same thing.

I didn't make the jump to the N93, so the N95 IS kinda my next best thing. There's always going to be something better down the road. That's just how technology works.

If my pattern stays the way it has, I'll end up getting the phone that comes out after the phone that comes out after the N95. That, or I'll sell the N95 for a cheaper, more reasonably priced phone that fits my needs, should it come out.

The N80 was a pretty huge thing when it came out, and I'm appreciative of it because I still got a really good resale price out of it when I did sell it. Maybe the same will happen with the N95 when something newer comes out. I don't see phones getting more expensive than the N95 at this point, but I should probably knock on wood about that.

My girlfriend says I should because phones are my thing, but I still don't know. Whenever someone sees my phone for the first time, they always ask me 2 questions. 1: What phone is that?, and, upon answering, 2: How much did that cost you? With the N95, I really think I'd be embarrassed to tell someone! Unless I could sell both my N73 and my digital camera, using the N95 primarily as a replacement for both, I can't justify the price at all.

I've never had a Symbian phone but the fact that the N95 has 5.0 camera, GPS and wifi are the main reasons I really want the phone.

BUT.... the only thing stopping me from getting it is the fact that it's a Slider and there's no QWERTY.

The perfect Device for me would be one as thin and same form factor as the E61 or S620 and comes with a 5.0 camera, GPS, wifi, touchscreen and QWERTY........ Do you guys know of any such device being released soon???

While the majority of the manufacturers use Qualcomm chipsets, Nokia produce their own (to avoid royalties, IIRC). Hence the row between the two companies.
