This is why I bought the PS3

nah not if you're playing madden, GTA, or halo on the consoles...cause if you're doing that...that's socially acceptable so you're not a nerd...but the second you pop in zelda nigga you a nerd

Sadly, this is how the Wii's are too.

I love how people said "there won't be a shortage...blah blah blah" there is too a shortage.

I hear people in stores say,

"I'm getting on for my son if I can find one before Christmas"
and I say
"I have one."

Their eyes get big like it is a huge achievement

Kind of pitiful that the US is amazed that people did a thing called "Wait in line" to get one.

Uhm, like Los said, you're talking about launch week and the first shipment so of course there's going to be a shortage. Most stores around my way have been hoarding them for black Friday, which I don't totally understand, but so be it. A couple of weeks into December and it should be considerably easier to find a Wii.

Black Friday = 10% of yearly business!

Gamestop is hording their left over systems for Black Friday because of tie-in ratios. They're more likely to sell a Wii and a few MORE games than just a general sale with one game (Zelda being the most popular Wii title to date). PS3s are the same way.

My purchase was a 1:1, which was the system and a game. Gamestop would ideally like a 3:1 or higher tie in ratio, since we make a killing off of games, accessories, and used items.

it sucks that my wife and i have to get up at like 4:30am to go wait in line for a game when they could have just sold me one yesterday

Sorry. I don't make the rules. Personally, I would've sold my units all thru the week and have nothing on Black Friday so I can sleep in.

by "games" do you mean "game"? because so far the only one i've seen worth playing for it is resistance fall of man, and the multi-platform games (madden, COD3, etc) are all getting better ratings on the 360 and the wii.

sucks that the great games for it won't be coming out until next summer or later. i'm really surprized they didn't have a handfull of great games available at launch instead of just one, and i think that's what's going to hurt their sales the most for a while, not the price tag.

those motherfuckers, they had 6 on wednesday and wouldn't sell

wife and I were #s 10 and 11 in line this morning

we went wii wii wii less all the way home
