Lem
I think someone is trying to entertain you

Talking about lights: When I cam home a few nights ago I sitched on the light in the hall and wham, a loud noise, the light bulb shot out of the lamp and then nothing but darkness in my whole apartment. I almost had a heart attack.

I had to go and find the fuse box and switch everything back on again...
Part of the light bulb is still stuck in the lamp in the hall. My nighbour will come over later and take care of it ...

My mom's cousin once dreamed about seeing her grandpa's face in a photo frame and all of a sudden his head sagged. She woke up startled and woke up her mom to tell her that he died. She called and it turned out that he really died that very second. Creepy, huh? :look:

I originally really had no interest in Mount Everest...but after I heard a story on the news years ago (this was before the discovery of George Leigh Mallory's corpse), I had a dream about Andrew Irvine.

In the dream, he told me exactly what happened during the 1924 Everest expedition. And he said that I should watch the news because the story he was telling me would eventually be proved true. He was very concerned that someone should know that the accident was not his fault.

And it has been proved true, detail by detail.

Now, this week there is a search going on for Andrew Irvine's body and I can't get that dream out of my mind. I think they'll find him soon.

Today while I was searching for news updates, I saw a blurb on a hauntings website:
Mount Everest - the ghost of a climber has allegedly been seen by other climbers, two of whom in 1975 claimed to have shared a snow hole with the ghost during their climb. Some who have seen him believe this is the ghost of climber Andrew Irvine, who disappeared in an attempt to summit the mountain with George Mallory in 1924.

Makes me feel like this guy really wants to find a way to let someone to know the truth because people have misjudged him for far too long.

Well, I've had another clock incident...but this one was with a different clock. :look: Just by way of explanation: the covering for a clock face is called a bezel.

I have an old clock that came from a Welsh pub...and the clock really looks like it's had a hard life. It never rings properly and it doesn't keep time properly but I just love it because it has character.

Last night when I went to shut off the living room lights, the bezel was wide open on the Welsh clock. Since the bezel clicks shut with a pin that fastens into the wooden front of the clock, it should not open on its own, and it shouldn't flip open wide in any case. Still, anything can happen so I just closed the bezel and forgot about it....until this morning when I noticed that the bezel was wide open again. Odd but no big deal; maybe I didn't close it properly last night.

A few minutes later, I'm sitting on the sofa with a mug of tea and I happen to look up at the Welsh clock...and I see the bezel latch pop open and I watch the bezel fly open all by itself.

Weird. The world is full of strange things. Welcome to :ff: BTW.

.....and when I posted just a few minutes ago about my power transformer blowing up, the electric power at my house went off!

I had to re-boot the computer and when I did I found out that for the first time ever I was signed out of :ff:  Weird.

I wasn't kidding when I said that There is always something strange going on at Casa Lemuria. :look:

Damn, it's past midnight here, i shouldn't be reading this lol
So scary...i'm always frightened of things like that, the paranormal stuff

Well, today when i woke up my front door was unlocked too... except i know who left it like that - me! I was a little tipsy last night.

The only strange thing that happened today was that before i went to the groceries' strore my TV was definitly off, and when i came back... it was on. I have no idea how that happened, but hey, strange things happen, right?

 Wow, Lem! That must have been really shocking and you were probably wondering if it was going to happen the next night!

Almost 25 years ago we moved into a house built in 1938. We bought this house from older friends that were retired and moving to another city. Anyway, Mrs Murray's brother lived with them for his last several years of life. He died while working in the garden. After moving into the house, strange things began to happened. It appeared to be mrs. Murray's brother. I do not normally believe in ghosts coming back to were it had lived to visit people who live in the house/property before dying. He was quite old, leagally blind, required extra light around the house. At unusual times, lights would go off and on rather someone else or not. Also, whenever either of us(husband or I) would open the door to a small door, Immediately I would feel frightened! Scared, Horrified, so FULL of FEAR!!! That lasted for approx 5 years. Other strange things happened.

It seems like there's always something strange going on at Casa Lemuria.

Last night at the exact moment that I turned off the light switch in the kitchen there was a BANG! and a FLASH! and the electric transformer outside my house blew up.

Who knew shutting off the light would do that. :look:  :goof:

This story really happened; it was just after midnight on December 30, 2009....

First I have to explain that I love clocks and I have a lot of them. There are more than 10 clocks in my house that chime the hours and some of them chime every 15 minutes. It's not unusual for a few clocks to be running late or early so I wasn't surprised when one of the clocks was chiming for a long time at 12:15. I assumed some clock was just late in chiming midnight.

But it wasn't. The clock kept on chiming long past 12 chimes.

After I minute I started counting. I heard a further 36 chimes, and the clock wasn't stopping so I figured that one of the clocks was malfunctioning. But the chime sounded different from the clocks that I normally have running, and I wasn't sure which clock it was. So I went out to the living room to see which clock was having a problem. And that's when I discovered that the malfunctioning clock was the one I inherited from my mother. She collected clocks, too, and this one was her prize possession.

Here's the scary thing: this clock stopped working on the day of my mother's funeral nearly three years ago, and despite numerous attempts I haven't been able to get the clock working since then. It just won't run, and it won't chime. It's broken.

I live alone. The cat was the only other creature in the house, and she was in bed with me. There was nothing near the clock that could have tripped it; the heat was off; the lights were off; there was no movement whatsoever in the living room. And I hadn't touched the clock in a couple of weeks, not even to dust the top of it. There is just no reasonable explanation. A stopped clock simply cannot start by itself....and it should never have chimed more than 100 times.

The clock hasn't made a sound since then; it still won't run. It's broken.

 Lem  At least half a dozen times in the past couple years I've just forgotten to lock the door when I come home...usually I don't notice that it's unlocked until the next morning. :goof:

The only weird thing I've ever noticed is that streetlights occasionally go out as I'm walking under them. :goof:

..........More strangeness at Casa Lemuria.........

My house is fairly quiet. It's out in the middle of a semi-wooded field on a couple of acres. I don't hear a lot of noise from outside unless it's birds singing or frogs croaking or my guinea fowl screeching or something like that. And since I live by myself there's not a lot of noise from the inside of the house...unless I'm the one making the noise. But I'm a really quiet person--I don't even remember to turn on the radio most days.

So I was out in the kitchen this morning washing the dishes when I heard a big wham! Strange...check the front door...check the back door...look out the windows...no cars in my driveway except mine...no one in the yard.

So back to the sink I go, and a few moments later wham! Strange...I check the house. It's too small for there to be anywhere for anyone to hide. And the noise seems to be coming from inside.

Back to the kitchen....wham! I give up. I'm not looking this time. wham! Ignoring it. wham! Not paying any attention.

Then I come into the study to write a note to a friend and just as I sit at my desk I see my cat Daisy playing with her catnip mouse. Daisy comes running into the study and wham! rams into the closet door.

 Mystery solved. Case closed. ;)

...................but I still haven't figured out the mystery of the unlocked front door. :look:

Between my house and my neighbour's house, there's this really narrow alleyway with a door at either end. Every night, around the same time, I hear this weird scraping noise from inside it, like somebody's dragging a stick along the wall  I know it can't be my neighbours because the lady that lives next door has two kids and she's always home early, and her husband is never home during the week. And then after the scraping noise, I always hear footsteps go down my street, right past my bedroom. It sounds like a woman walking in really high heels, it's really weird because whenever I've looked out of my window, there isn't a soul about.

:look: I'm beginning to think that the doors of the world have some secret agenda...... and that they are conspiring against us! :goof:

Once, a few years back, my dad told me that the guy who put the solar thingys on our roof would be coming to visit with a few students from my school to show them the solar stuff. I didn't like those guys and they would have to pass my room to get to the roof but I didn't want any of them to sneak into my room or anything. So, wehn I left the house that morning I closed my room dor and locked it (that's something I usually never do). I have the only key to that door and I took it with me.
But when I got home that afternoon the door was open. Not just unlocked, it was really open. And that door doesn't even have a doorknop/handle that you can move or something. You can only open that door from the outside when you put the key in the lock and turn it.

Who knows. There are people who like to lurk around graveyards during the night time. Thus adding more to the fear factor of sorts. Never mind that it's not a zombie.

Ah, urban legends and scary stories based on history. Gotta love them. Which makes me want to go look up for said stories based on where I live. :gone:

This thread is making me paranoid.

Okay the city I live in has been around for a long time and apparently 50 years ago a few streets away from mine there was this guy who killed his wife and two daughters, then himself. There is also this graveyard beside the middle school I went to and people who know this "legend" say when the police went into the house he had this written plan of how he was going to kill his family and he wanted his grave to say "Now you remember me."

Okay this story is true, I just never belived the part about the grave, it seemed really far fetched. Anyway sometimes it would be brought up in class to waste time and some teachers claimed it was true and there was a grave that only said "Now you rememeber me." People had also claimed they had seen it but we weren't really supposed to ever go there and IDK I just never belived them.

Anyway over Easter weekend I had a bonfire with my friends and the police showed up, because apparently you are not allowed to do that, So everyone dropped their bottles and ran, so we had to run through the forest and hop like two fences and anyway we ended up hiding in this graveyard. So the police were shining their lights on us and I was hiding behind this tree with my friend and this guy was a few feet away from us hiding behind a grave, all of a sudden this guy starts screaming, because he was leaning against the grave that said "Now you remember me." Then we needed to run again but it was really scary. I still don't know about this grave thing, I mean this guy was loaded.
