snarf thanks but after doing the reply i did put the backup on ny phone and it worked , but whith the buzzz and after doing it several times now i've have de phone working all the time in win xp , tks for you reply
 
You are doing the same thing two times !

Steps 6, 7, 8 as a whole and step 10 from the other side are doing the same thing at the end...
You don't need to do both !

Maybe the automation with "S45iactivator" to be more reliable if it is done correctly.
I assume that something have gone wrong in the 8 step when unlock-repair your phone... for your case.

Also the "activator" method may take better consideration of the different flash types used in S/ME45 phones ....

I just finished the upgrade of an ME45 v.30 of a friend with only step 10 and not at all steps 6,7,8. The rest of steps are a needed standard procedure.

The only thing missing in both cases is that it might needed to put also EEProm block 68 ( in EEP lite ) from the original S45i EEProm. Using "Siemens EEPROM tool". Something with WAP-GPRS and other Net Operator setting go there...

Well, first of all, I have to say I backuped eeproms (1F0000 and 5F0000) with UNISIEMENS, but they were no necessary.

First of all, I flashed my phone with flash-s45i-040510.zip, which can be downloaded HERE.

After that, phone buzzed, did not work properly. I desperated. But somewhere I don't remember where, I found a proggy which saved my life. You can download it HERE .

Procedure is very simple: Run S45i Activator, read phone (press READ PATCHES) and check out which phone values are NOT OK (right window). Tick in left boxes those values which are NOT OK and press WRITE PATCHES. You don't need to check boxes of things that are OK.

After a while, phone should be working. If not, unlock phone, and if still does not work, run S45i Activator again and read/write patches again.

I have update my 3618 to ME45I several weeks before. but there only english version . it's not support Chinese display. so my phone book and add.book can not be display correctly. so i change back to 24 version.
 
That's exactly what I did, only that in order to upgrade the S45 (from FW30 lg4), I had to flash it with a full flash (you can find these on www.multifund.de), then I flashed it with S45i_040408 (found at gsmtricks.com) and then used S45iActivator with S45Tools1.2beta to patch and unlock the phone.

One question however: my phone has a C289 flash, does anyone know if the process is different for mobiles with CE20 flash chips? I've read some things in other topics in this forum, but I can't come to a clear conclusion.

Oh, and SM45Tools 1.2beta fails to read and backup the ROM from my mobile (doing a full flash backup), why?

what s45i eeprom block? nothing like that,just flash your phone with s45i v4.0 flash an use s45i activator and it should be upgraded successfully.i have uploaded all software you need for upgrading at venci.8--8.net/siemens

Well, try tell them... It's a kinda strange that sim is working ok on all other phones, including my m35i and s25... So I think it's indead a softfault of Siemens. But I get the trouble

What cable did you guys use to update the S45 to S45i? Was it the supplied data cable by Siemens or a diff cable? I've read somewhere that I need to put 3 volts in Pin 1 and 4 to be able to convert the data cable to a service cable, is this true?
 
Does this work with CE20 chipset? I have ME45 with FW26 original... I updated to FW30. Now I want to upgrade to ME/S45i but only if this works for my ME45! Last time I tried, my phone went totally dead and it costed me some weeks to fix it...
