This is going to be my first touch screen...

1. I am moving from a Blackberry because It is time for me to get a better browsing experience (I hope you see this Research in Motion)

I want a nice touch screen smartphone. I was told by one or two, espec if I shake, for my first touch screen, get a phone with a keyboard. I am not sure if that is necessary. I played on the iPhone and ATT said I did quite well.

Do you recommend I get a keyboard definitely OR is it not necessary.
It is Ironic that the ones with the KEYBOARD have the better Haptic screens than the Glass, but the Glass ones are larger, thus a keyboard is not needed. Can you expound on that

2. I can't decide on these 4 phones I believe from my reading, Cnet reviews and others, that these 4 phones are the best Tmobile has, with one of them coming from Sprint

Would you recommend

1. Motorola Cliq....was my first choice, ,then I felt, it was somewhat stable, but not totally solid. The screen is quite small compared to others YET you do get the Haptic screen AND keyboard

2. HTC HD2 I then moved to this phone, where Cnet says it is AT THIS TIME, Tmobiles best touch screen. For me it does NOT have the keyboard. It is not quite big, but rather HUGE. The biggest downfall, which I hear HTC takes care of TO SOME degree is that it has Windows OS

3. HTC My Touch 3G Slide...When I went in to the store they said that they would get the HD2 out of those 2, but above all, they would wait for this. This has everything the Cliq has, but is a better browser with Flash, I felt the phone, it is SOLID, and beautiful screen

LASTLY, IF I LIKED or YOU RECOMMENDED #2, The HD2, but didn't want it because of Windows OS I could switch to Sprint (my account is approved, free, and waiting) and get...

4. HTC EVO 4G. Basically the same as the HD2 with Video calling, 8 mp camera, etc

Can anyone help. It TRULY would be a big deal to switch to Sprint, and I don't think I want to, UNLESS you suggest that that phone will be an unbelievable experience that will make my days filled with so much fun :)

Your input is appreciated
Thx
Eric

1. Moto cliq its a bid old hardware and software not a great seller more for teens. if your dont want high end smartphone maybe it works for you.

2. HD2 I own one and for me its a great phone. If you have never used windows mobile or even the recent 6.1 or 6.5 I would tell you to play with the device atleast a day or 2 before getting it. alot of people got disappointed since they expect it to be easy to use you need to be some what computer savvy to work with this phone.

3. mytouchslide seems to be the best choice its not keep up with todays high end hardware but seems to be a good phone fast stable and good qwerty from what I have read.

4. Evo the best smartphone for maybe the worse carrier sprint. people say its cheap etc but lets not forget how sprint had the worse customer service and support but good reception. Sprint has gotten maybe the best android smartphone in the world and already mess it up with their plans unlimited its 70.00 but you have to pay and extra fee of 10.00 for 4g no matter if in your location gets 4g or not. tethering its an extra 30 buck when my hd2 tethering its free as long as you dont go over 10gb a month thats alot unless you watch hours of porn and download bunch of music which for the reason you have home internet. tether its more for the road when your away in a vacation. As far as the phone comes to opinion its a great phone

If switching to Sprint is a hassle, grab the myTouch 3G Slide, I think. It has Android 2.1 and it's more or less ready to do.

Personally, I'd be leaning either to a next-gen iPhone (sometime in mid-to-late June) or a Droid Incredible at Verizon, but it depends on where you live and your experiences with T-Mobile.

The MyTouchSlide is a mediocre phone at launch, and will be quickly outclassed. If you're spending the money, get something decent.

I would go for the myTouch slide. If it's anything HTC has gotten partly right it's that the capacitive screens aren't that bad at all and you always have a hardware keyboard to fall back on. I think you'll be totally fine with the Slide, it's got plenty of ram and the Espresso interface is snappy.

If you want something HTC EVO like, the Nexus One works on T Mobile 3G, and has decent specs(the EVO wins out, but the Nexus is close, and you'll get Android updates quicker with it)
