I personally think this is a must see-. I love it.

Really? I didn't think much of Made In Britain. Adore This Is England, got it on dvd so didn't watch it on television tonight.

I've got the subtitles on, and Lol comes up 'Lol', and I have to look twice... it isn't every day you see 'Lol' on the TV!

Hmm have to agree. I dont mind a bit of violence at all but think Meadows totally lost the plot here with the beating at the end.

He spoilt another great film of his "dead Mans Shoes" doing the same sort of thing couple o years ago...........had great script, great acting, great black humour and then bang!! just went all dark and wierd for last hour

Great film! It's a depressing ending, but the lead character (played brilliantly) was hardly going to become reformed, he was too messed up. At least Milky survives the attack.

Shame about the satellite dishes and Nottinghamshire city council house alarms, they weren't about in the early 80's!

Isn't that what it showed though? A bunch of decent skins enjoying themselves and taking a bullied lad under their wing. Which then got tainted by the racist element of Combo and his cronies who were going down the path of being NF activists.

Meadows himself was a skin and I think it's based loosely on his own childhood.

I'm not sure of the ad-libbing in his films though, especially with new actors - I know he's after realism, but sometimes it just sounRAB a little awkward.
