This is England 86 (Spoilers)

I really disagree with that second paragraph. The way that she repeated his lines back to him showed how nervous yet furious she was. I thought it was quite realistic, whereas a completely scripted back and forth would have seemed overly "scripted" if you get what i mean.
 
I agree with you guys, the clothes and styling are well out of date and look more like 82/83 than 86. By 86, the whold Chicago House Scene was starting up and fashion was a lot more colourful and nothing like this.
 
1990 ahh thats good too, world cup year with England doing well, acid house was kind of still around and dance music in general was filling up all the charts it was a good time to be in from what I gather although I was only 3 that year :D lol
 
Wait a minute, if you don't live in England then why would you be so bothered about it taking up four hours of airtime on an English channel? Is it personally annoying you? I don't like Glee, but i don't go into the Glee thread moaning that it takes up 22 hours of airtime on Fox.

You don't have to relate to the behaviour depicted on the film/show to appreciate what it is. Just like i don't have to have lived in New Jersey and be part of organised crime to appreciate The Sopranos...I really don't get what you're trying to get across, unless you're just trolling, which considering some of the other posts i've seen of yours, that seems to be what you're good at.
 
Enjoying it so far. Really liking Lol as the lead, though really feel sorry for Woody as although she might not feel like hes there for her right now when she neeRAB him, everything he seems to be doing is essentially for her. Can't believe Milky betraying his best friend either.

I know he isn't really a main character but I really like Harvey so far, and he is pretty nice tolook at too ;)

Not a fan of Gadget and don't find any of his storyline or character funny at all, but that's probably just me.
 
The rape scene shocked me. But at least the show had the courage of its convictions to actually show that scene. Most other drama writers are too scared of the reaction they'll get from the Daily Mail and ofcom and the like to depict a scene like that.

Best British drama I've scene in a long while. Up there with a lot of the recent American dramas I've seen recently... Has the grit and feel of something HBO would produce in the States. This is more like it C4... The BBC or ITV would not dare air a show like this, they're too scared too. Brilliant.
 
I don't know what process they go through, as regarRAB improv.

I didn't have any problems with the scene, apart from the hammer I've mentioned in an earlier post.
It's not as if we're dealing with two highly articulate characters in the first place, she's come over with the intention of stoving her fathers head in, he's a Jack in Box loon.
 
Strangely only last weekend we had a 3 day Ska festival in my town and it was funny seeing so many blokes in their 40s with pork pie hats and Madness T-shirts. (And of course Madness/The Specials/etc was not the first time around for Ska either.

A very enjoyable retro two-tone throwback that made me feel really old!
 
In last weeks episode, when her sister and mother were trying to convince Lol that the father had changed she said something about him "coming into little girls rooms at night"........ it was something like that anyway.
