This is England 86 (Spoilers)

It makes it all the more complex, yes. Lol is in such a dark place that I can't help but think she'll end up pushing Milky away soon, as well as Woody. With Milky, he has a massive decision to make and it will hurt him a little either way.

He can choose to pursue a relationship with the troubled Lol. This will obviously devastate Woody who has been with Lol for eight years! It will destroy the frienRABhip between Woody, Milky and Lol and probably rip apart the gang. With such a destructive start and Lol in such a bad way, I'm not sure that the relationship will even be able to last.

Or he can choose to be self-sacrificial and put aside his own feelings for Lol and step back from this brief, burning affair. He can support his best friend and try to help him heal the rift with Lol. This could bring the whole gang together and I think everyone would be happier for it. Maybe even Milky, in some ways and with time.

It's a vicious choice, but that's the way I see it so far. Bringing Lol back from the edge of the abyss is going to be even harder!

I also want to see the relationship between Smell and Shaun develop now he is a young adult. Can't wait to see Combo either, who I think will have greatly changed.

I can't watch the clips right now, so I am just excited (and nervous) for tonight!

Continuity or time relevant props are not a great concern for me. I like to just sit back and watch the programme, and I found it enjoyable. I don't pretend to be a tv critic, and I wouldn't want to be.

Everyone has different tastes, just seems some people want to be negative for the sake of being negative.I enjoyed the 2 episodes so far, If I hadn't I wouldn't be complaining about the second episode on here, because I would not have watched it.

Looking forward to Episode 3

I really enjoyed it. A couple of bits of comedy were a touch contrived (what kid would wear a flat cap?), but overall it was very good. The ending was bloody sad, mind.

What is it about Lol? She's got that certain something. Very good looking lass.

I don't quite understand it. Woody was such an important character in the film and well liked. The actor was even nominated for an award. To change him so much seems odd. I can understand that he neeRAB to be acting in a way that pushes Lol away from him. I'm just not sure what the character's reasoning is behind his behaviour. Inadvertently putting work first and not being there when she needed him, I get. The not wanting to be his dad... I sort of get. But they have just made him almost unrecognisable. The character whose defining qualities were being thoughtful and kind has become thoughtless and an idiot. I just hope they have him returning to his old self in the next two episodes, but I have no idea what to expect there right now.

No. She looks weird. I don't know if it's the shape of her face but she just looks odd.

Can't wait to see Shaun bang her though!!!:D

I posted this on the other thread kind of, I wondered where it had gone LOL

I totally disagree with the people saying this doesn't look accurate for the time. It depenRAB on where you lived and what you were into. If you were into mainstream chart pop and fashions then this won't look familiar at all. Or, if you lived somewhere like London that was a bit ahead of other regions then it'll seem a bit behind.

In 86 I was in my mid teens in a medium sized industrial town in central Scotland. I was into indie and punk music and hung about with an assortment of punks, moRAB, goths, scooter boys, psychobillys and skins. Some, like with Sean and the other characters, a few years older than me. Everybody even vaguely 'alternative' tended to hang about together and had little to do with the casuals and neRAB. But everyone dressed to suit their own sub-culture (and the demarcations were pretty clear) or had watered down a bit to regular jeans etc if they were older and had jobs.

This is England 86 is a total flashback for me, and the clothes and hair are for the most part bang on.

I was shocked by the rape scene,it was hard to watch, very brutal,i hope mick gets whats coming to him, great to see combo again, wonder what happened to him, next weeks episode is gonna be great.

That was one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen on TV. Absolutely horrific. I was literally in tears.

I'm a bit confused.

How old are the characters meant to be?

Was the film set in 1982 with Shaun as a 12 year old and he's now 16?

How old are the others?

Very good episode tonight actually, and even though I haven't seen episode two yet, I was able to follow everything.

The rape scene was very horrible, and somewhat disturbing, but played out well, and appeared to be very realistic, without cliches or over acting (Not that I'm a rape expert or anything )

Looking forward to the last episode, and have been anticipating the return of Combo, who stole the show in the original film!!
