This is England 86 (Spoilers)

Brilliant final episode of a gripping series. Although it looks like they could end it there, I'm glad Shane is considering the possibility of continuing the story in 1990 in a few years time. These characters are too good to waste. Even the ones which barely spoke gave such powerful performances.

Agree by and large with all that. Thoroughly enjoyed it still as it was as well though and overall get strong feeling this will be revisited.

An appreciation thread started before the programme has even aired? That tells me there must have been some hype or people willing to enjoy it regardless. All this because of some film people claim to love? I just don't get it.

Oh for those trying to look clever picking on the fashions.
As someone else mentioned the House thing not coming to their area for years later.
These things aren't set in Stone and not everyone follows the 'current' fashions and they're not the same all over the country or even the same town.

MoRAB might as well not have existed for me, I had a couple of mates who were into that scene, but apart from that off the radar for me and my circle (Soul Boys).

As an overseas viewer who loved TiE, I was pleased to see "the old gang" together again. As some reviewers have commented, it's likely the feel-good quotient of the opener won't last and there will likely be some very dramatic moments before we're through this series. I also think this will continue as Shane Meadows' fictional variant of the "Up" documentary series, with TiE '90, '94 etc. OK by me :)

I guess I'm a sucker for reunions, but I also appreciate directors who work with amateurs/first time actors. Alan Parker built a believable emsemble in The Commitments and there is a similar collegial effect going on with TiE.

Now will people understand why Lol has been all over the place? She's been scared shitless for weeks and knew what was coming.

At least that monster is dead now and can't hurt anyone else.

Truly horrible scene to watch but for all the right reasons.

Loved it. So funny with some genuinely touching moments. Trailer for next week looks a bit more hard hitting which is in line with the movie. Breath of fresh air, well written and acted. Line of the show? Meggy - 'Dont mind me love, I'll probably be dead in the morning'.:)

I thought This is England was a good film, and was looking forward to the mini-series, but the whole thing seemed a bit unnecessary to me. At times it felt as if it should have been entitled: Skins '86.

Oh bloody hell I've got "Daisy, Daisy...." going around in my head now.

Loving it so far. Only saw This is England for the first time all the way through last night.
