this is england '86 (Merged)

I wouldn't have said that at all.....i loved the film!
Also love the promo track [Under Me Sleng Teng] on the series previews. It's a chooooon!!!:D
Looking forward to the start of the series.

It's 1986 - the year Chris de Burgh is at number one, Top Gun is filling the cinemas, VHS is trumping Betamax, the World Cup is raging in Mexico and over 3.4 million Brits are unemployed.

As Shaun (Thomas Turgoose) sits his last school exam, the realisation dawns that adulthood beckons and in mid-80s England he's going to have to find his own way in the world. Luckily life has dealt a surprise hand to his friends too and no one is quite where they thought they would be. Woody, Lol, Smell, Gadget, Milky - they are all looking for love, a laugh, a job and something that resembles a future.

This Is England '86 is a brand new drama coming to Channel 4 this September. It revisits the gang from the hit film This Is England three years on.

Really can't wait for this.

Well that shows how moronic racists are if they like this film because they think it supports their views... it's an anti racist film/tv series. Just like American History X was, but a load of racists loved it because they didn't see the anti racism message. Idiots. These films are positives. And I think the majority see them in that way too.

Unless I just totally didn't get what you wrote... :p

POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR THE FILM
from the pic in the link, wasnt the guy in the red t-shirt murdered at the end of the movie

???

Shane Meadows said that he had no say over the current adverts, but they do not really reflect the content of the series. There will be new adverts soon featuring footage from the series.

You've based that on the trailer alone?

Why not watch it before jumping to conclusions? I suspect that's how C4 are wanting to promote rather than how it actually is.

The film was quite hard hitting too so hopefully Shane can follow this up well. I think its a good thing that the series won't be centered around Shaun, it would have become too predictable.
