Wisconsin politician argues that Arizona is nrabroad
a border state during immigration debate
County Supervisor Peggy West apparently grabroad
a little confused about where Arizona was on the map while pushing a measure to boycrabroad
t the state.
"If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this saying that they had a major issue with undocumented people flooding the borders, I would have to look twice at this. But this is a state that is a ways removed from the border," West said.
Arizona, of course, is a border state.
The gaffe isn't sitting well with many Arizona residents.
Arizona Senator Jon Kyl sent west a letter complete with a map highlighting Arizona.
Jokes aside, Debbie Johnson from the Arizona Travel Alliance says misinformation is costing Arizona more than $12 million in tourism, and much more in business.
