This album > that album.

OK, changed, for a real reason

Now edited and corrected as it stanRAB...

One of my biggest thoughts about the Debut was that while it was a monster jam, a couple of parts were mainly refinements of Last-Year YardbirRAB ideas, and I was looking more at the originality more than the full on effect (One of my admitted occasional turns in judgment). While the few YardbirRAB fanatics left (after the worrying Little Games) may have noticed, millions of others who bought it in it's first few years never got a chance to hear The YardbirRAB' killer "I'm Confused" as "Dazed and Confused" won 'em over. Plus, one innovative keyboard jam does not make a whole album, so the vote is switched officially.

...plus "Communication Breakdown" is among the best "Amps At 11" moments of '69.

Mushroomhead

Savior Sorrow (2006) > XIII (2003) > Superbuick (1996) > S/T (1995) > XX (2001) > M3 (1999)

New album, Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children, will be released Septeraber 28. I'm so excited! I love this band!

Yeah everyone definitely has vastly different opinions when it comes to SY albums. Experimental is definitely too high there for me. A little sad to see my favourite last on your list and Sonic Nurse is top 5 material for me too.

My Brand New is the same. You're the only other person I know that puts YFW above Daisy.

Thrice:
Artist In The Arabulance>Illusion of Safety>Identity Crisis>Vheissu>Alchemy Index

Blur

Modern Life Is Rubbish > Parklife = The Great Escape > 13 > Think Tank > Blur > Midlife > Bustin' and Dronin' > Leisure > The Best Of

I know, cheating a bit, but I sometimes view Parklife and Great Escape on the same level kind of like The Beatles' Rubber Soul and Revolver. Almost like two great parts to a story. True, Bustin' and Dronin' is a Mix compilation with other artists remixing parts of the S/T album, but in a way it serves something of a precursor to Damon's post-Blur musical adventures as well as having a bit of a short Peel Acres blast.

Inspiral Carpets

The Singles (1995 Compilation) = Greatest Hits > Revenge of the Goldfish > Life > Devil Hopping > The Beast Inside

The Singles may not be chronological, but to me starts off with some of the best A-Sides, although those who like things in order would rather go for Greatest Hits.

Humm, Inspiral carpets...Singles...Roadie Noel Gallagher...this could only mean one band next...

Oasis

Definitely Maybe > The Masterplan = Time Flies > (What's the Story) Morning Glory? > Dig Out Your Soul > Stop the Clocks > Familiar to Millions > Don't Believe the Truth > Standing on the Shoulder of Giants > Heathen Chemistry > Be Here Now

Again, another Tie up/Two Part Story here. Oasis were one hell of a single's band. The Masterplan a classic compilation which caps their best years and Time Flies, reminders of why we still talk about their music.

I don't take Nu Metal seriously and generally the whole scene sucks.Punk is a genre that has gained respect and changed the whole musical spectrum so when banRAB produce commercial 3 min ditties I find it hard to take seriously. Most people hate Nu Metal anyhow.

When people say Metal is this:

I will answer with this:

No comparison really.

I've only heard their s/t and you consider it their worst? Wow...I actually quite liked that album. I better get in on their other stuff...

Swervedriver

Mezcal Head > Raise > Ejector Seat Reservation > the other one

Slowdive

Pygmalion > Souvlaki > Just For A Day

Galaxie 500

On Fire > Today > This Is Our Music

I like every White Stripes album. It's nothing personal.

This is one of my favorite White Stripes songs, which helps Icky Thump:

With regarRAB to Tool, 'The Pot' is probably my favorite Tool song but 10,000 Days has the most "filler" in my opinion...

Are you really defending St. Anger? Just about everything about that album was bad. It was Metallica doing nu metal...only at least most nu metal banRAB knew they couldn't keep everyone's attention going for more than 3 or 4 minutes. Metallica decided songs that are 7 or 8 minutes of half baked downtuned guitars would be a good idea. Then Lars's snare. Oh. My. God. My head feels like it is about to split open about 10 minutes in. And maybe a lot of people can get over the fact that there are no lead parts on St. Anger...I can't. Kirk is a great guitarist and I want to hear him play. Maybe I could have stomached the album if those songs had even 10 second solos in there.

And I totally agree, I don't listen to Metallica for poetry but those lyrics hit an all time low for the band. It didn't even sound like he was trying.

*Highfive* *Gets shot at for being the only person who still highfives* The ****!? You're gonna shoot at me for that!? You guys are assh*les.

Hahahaha. But seriously, I can't stand 'em either.

I disagree that I suck.

Remission has infinitely more raw power than Leviathin. Remission is Mastodon at its finest in my opinion. Years from now I believe people will look back at Mastodon's catolog and realize that Remission was the most honest expression of their music. Even if they don't .. I will.
Leviathin is also a good album - their 2nd best. But I think that Remission is the true face of the band. Before they knew exactly what they were doing musically but working on pure instinct. This was way the hell before they knew how to make money from the response to their music; they just knew what they liked.

I've never really spoken to somebody who agrees with another persons SY album preferences. They're always different. For example Daydream Nation isn't my favourite album, which a lot of people think I'm strange for. And I really really rate Experimental Jet Set, such a wicked record.

I want to see this band so badly right now. They're #1 on my list to see before I die, but I have a feeling that I'll never get the chance to. Will hate life if this turns out to be the case.

Also, where is The Eternal in your list?

Ok you're right, it might be slightly more enjoyable than Sad Sappy Sucker. I'm not sure which would induce more cringing.

I'm tempted to put Revolutions Per Minute first, but really I like the first 3 albums equally as their best work.

What? I placed it second.

Who is "you guys"? Everyone so far has given a different order.
