This album > that album.

I'll pick an artist people here may not be familiar with, for the sake of contrast. :band:

Madonna

Like A Prayer > Ray Of Light > Erotica > Self Titled > True Blue > Confessions On A Dancefloor > Music > Like A Virgin > Hard Candy > Bedtime Stories

haha - yea, I figured what you meant. Still, you like those two latest albums that I don't really appreciate at all. I included Somewhere in Time in my list but I don't think I could sit through it today.

My memory of these albums isn't perfect but isn't Live After Death mostly stuff from the albums you rated lowest? (except for Piece of Mind)

Fu‎ck no Icky Thump in first and Elephant way down low wtffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

moar like Elephant > Icky Thump > De Stijl > The White Stripes > White Blood Cells > Get Behind me Satan mirite

wtfffffffffffff 10,000 days in last waaat

yeah pretty much.

Eminem: Marshall Mathers > Slim Shady

because those are the only albums you should own by him

I love me some inequalities.

Nick Drake:
Bryter Layter> Pink Moon> Five Leaves Left

Coheed and Carabria:
In Keepingblahblah> blahblah Vol. 2> SSTB> blahblah Vol. 1
Haven't heard Year of the Black Rainbow enough yet to give it a ranking.

The Mars Volta:
De-loused>Frances>Amp>Octahedron>Bedlam

Rush (from what I've heard):
Perm Waves>Moving Pictures>2112> Fly By Night> A Farewell To Kings> Hemispheres

Sigur Ros:
Agaetis>Takk>()>Med Sud

EDIT:System of a Down:
Toxicity=Mezmerize>Self-Titled>Hypnotize>Steal this Album!

EDIT2: Zappa (what I've heard):
Hot Rats> Apostrophe'> Freak Out!> Burnt Weeny Sammich> Over-Nite Sensation> Weasels Ripped My Flesh> One Size Fits All> Sheik Yerbouti> We're only in it for the Money
All great though.

Huh. I was actually gonna say that 'Some might say' was one of the few Oasis songs I could bear, but I'll go with you on 'Wonderwall'. I can't stand the bloody song. If I were pushed on the subject, 'Definately Maybe' gets top spot from me, 'Morning Glory' next, though I generally only listen to when someone puts it on the jukebox in the pub and everything else is sh*t...

The Eels
Beautiful Freak>Electro Shock Blues>Blinking lights and other Revelations>Souljacker>Daisies of the Galaxy>Horabre Lobo>End Times>Shootnanny!

Massive Attack
Mezzanine>Blue lines>Protection>100th window>Heligoland>Danny the dog

Pretty predictable there, though Blue lines and Protection swop places from day to day.

No worries! The self-titled one's the collection of outtakes from Self Portrait as well, not the one with House Of the Rising Sun on it. I've thought about getting Highway a few times lately and trying my luck with it. As for Blonde On Blonde, I didn't like it all that much when I last listened to it. Bear in mind that that was years ago though.

Sepultura

Roots> Chaos A.D> Arise> Beneath The Remains> Schizophrenia> Morbid Visions

Not a big fan of post Max Cavalera Sepultura so no Derrick Green stuff here.

This is tough.

I = IV > II > HOH > Physical Graffiti > III > Presence > ITTOD

I should put "I" lower because two of my favorite songs on it weren't composed by Zep, but I just can't.

Lordi

The Arockalypse (2006) > Get Heavy (2002) > Deadache (2008) > The Monsterican Dream (2004)

Stone Sour

Come What(ever) May (2006) > S/T (2002)

Trivium

Ascendancy (2005) > Shogun (2008) > The Crusade (2006) > Eraber To Inferno (2003)

Deep Purple is the band that got me into music as a whole, so I'm obligated to do one for them. I'm only doing the Ian Gillan albums, as those are basically the only good ones, although it almost feels incomplete without the amazing S/T album.

Deep Purple In Rock (1970) > Machine Head (1972) > Perfect Strangers (1984) > Fireball (1971) > Who Do We Think We Are (1973) > The House Of Blue Light (1987) > The Battle Rages On (1993) > Bananas (2003) > Perpendicular (1996) > Rapture Of The Deep (2005) > Abandon (1998)

EDIT: You must headbang to Deep Purple In Rock, no exceptions.

Some others I've already seen listed:

The White Stripes:

Icky Thump > De Stijl > White Blood Cells > The White Stripes > Elephant > Get Behind Me Satan

Tool:

Aenima > Opiate > Lateralus > Undertow > 10,000 Days

And my two favorite banRAB:

Red Hot Chili Peppers:

Blood Sugar Sex Magik > Freaky Styley > Mother's Milk > The Uplift Mofo Party Plan > One Hot Minute > Californication > Red Hot Chili Peppers > By the Way > Stadium Arcadium

I feel like I have done that list twenty times (I prolly have).

Primus:

Frizzle Fry > Sailing the Seas of Cheese > Pork Soda > Antipop > Tales from the Punchbowl > The Brown Album

It's really Frizzle Fry/Seas of Cheese and everything else...

Last place, even though it has "Hey Bulldog" on it? :)

Never think of this as a studio album-proper, but rather as a sort of EP of four new songs (all of which I like) with two previously released songs and the George Martin score.

Yeah but the versions are so much better. Rime of The Ancient Mariner and Powerslave have a much more tangible energy live than the studio albums for me. The fact that I heard them live before the studio versions will obviously make me biased.

Both Powerslave and NOTB have some horrible filler for me and apart from Quest For Fire, Piece Of Mind is so underated. Both Still Life and To Tame A Land are absolute belters.

I'm game

Husker Du

Metal Circus > Zen Arcade > New Day Rising > Everything Falls Apart > Flip Your Wig > Warehouse : Songs & Stories > Candy Apple Grey > Land Speed Record
