the S/T album can be tough, but theres no way that their second should be last.
 
I`ve only recently gotten into listening to the Church and the first 3 albums that you`ve picked out are my favs, especially Priest=Aura it has to be one of the best psychedelic/psychedelic influenced albums ever recorded..... I can`t stop listening to it.

'Disintigration' might even go one lower, but I'm in a good mood today. Think over-playing it when I was younger(it was my first album) ruined it a lot for me.
 
That's just wrong. I haven't subjected myself to all of their more recent releases, but it's self-titled >>>>> everything else. What I own:

I'd say that every Floyd but the last has something worth hearing. Actually Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict is pretty amusing.



The early stuff is great, their lyrics did start out pretty weak and generic (not that that's the selling point of pop music anyway) but their melodic talents have always been intact. I do like their first 2 albums less because they are dominated by covers and while The Beatles were a good cover band, that isn't why I listen to them.

In retrospect, I'm gonna switch places with Beatles for Sale and Hard Day's Night.

Genesis have gone through a pretty interesting evolution.

Lousy psychedelic pop band under Gabriel > Good prog band under Gabriel with Anthony Phillips and John Mayhew > Great prog band under Gabriel with Hackett and Collins > Great prog band under Collins with Hackett > Great pop band under Collins without Hackett > Lousy pop band under Collins > Worst thing ever to happen to music under Ray Wilson

Yeah but Morrison is on that album technically.

I have to disagree, I found Jackhammer's PF ranking to be completely out of whack.

I don't really understand why people like RABOTM, WYWH and Animals but not The Wall. I don't hear any lapse in quality at all. And I don't know how anyone can rate The Wall as the worst PF album, especially below a crapfest like The Final Cut which is about a million times as guilty of all the things people criticize The Wall for, without the redeeming qualities.

For me RABOTM, WYWH and Meddle are the only superior albums to The Wall. Side 3 aside from Hey You and Comfortably Nurab is the only real weak point of the album.

You know it's a great band when nobody can figure out just how good each of the albums are.
