Third personal singular or plural?

This sentence is 3rd person singular, right? :

"The man is eating bread."

But, I have a question. What person is this?:

"The man and the woman are eating bread."
I got three answers, thank you, but I'm still confused. Is the second sentence: "The man and the woman are eating bread." third person plural?
