Thinking of starting a fruit/vegetable garden - should I use pots or plant...

...directly in the ground? I think pots would be a lot easier to do, but I wouldn't be able to plant as much. Any advantages/disadvantages to either method?

I guess it depends on what veggies/fruit you're planting. A lot of plants need room to grow, but something like leaf lettuce would probably do okay in a pot, as long as the pot is big enough, since you continuously pick the leaves as they grow. Broccoli plants get pretty large. Vine plants like strawberries and cucs and those types of things need room to roam. But green onions and garlic would probably do okay too in pots. Again, just depends....
