Thinking of selling.....

What's up guys? I know, it's terrible but I found a great deal on a new bike. The only way I can really come out on top is if I sell mine. I want to keep it but it would be a little easier on my finances if I did. Does anyone know how hard it is to sell a M50? I'm going to include the upgrades seeing as how I won't need them. Anyways, I just wanted to hear a few opinions. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

You are going to take an absolute beating if you sell a bike that is less than a year old. The dealers around here are selling brand new 2007 M50s for $5900 + Tax Tag Title, a full $1000 less than the sticker price. There are leftover 2006 M50s listed for $5700 out the door. Both have special financing offers too- it is very easy to walk into the dealer and buy a brand new M50 with basically nothing down for as little as $69 a month. So you are going to have to cut someone a pretty good deal price wise to make them want your used one instead of a new one.
Those 'great deals on a new bike' that all the manufacturers are offering right now are really hurting those trying to sell a slightly used one.

Figures. M50s aren't nearly as plentiful here. And with what little time they do spend on the floor, I see them even less on the road. Working nights doesn't help.

Selling a brand new M50??? Sorry to hear the sad news...but I just gotta know what bike has you so enamored, that you're willing to part with such a fine machine as the M50. ;)

You're going to hate me but....it's a 2003 Yamaha R6. I talked him down to 3800 and it's loaded with extras. I don't have to upgrade anything. I love my M50 but I know it won't get ridden as much as it needs to. I agree with Dr.Bob, I am going to take a beating on the resale. I just hope I can find someone to just take over the payments and maybe I'll add some sort of cash back incentive. The R6 was such a great deal, I just couldn't pass it up. Sorry guys!

Hey I feel your pain... I had my 06 C50 less than 90 days and had decked it out with accessories. I stripped it back down and traded it in on a 07 C90 Black. I took it on the trade and should have got the 90 in the first place but I had not ridden regularly in 15+ years and figured I had better start smaller.... I WAS WRONG.

Oh well, live and learn.

I absolutely LOVE my C90 BLACK ( I am thinking debadge and electric blue flames ) and it will be well dressed within the next week or so....

Ride On...:bluethum:

Yeak, I know... I need to change my avatar... maybe later tonight:fight1:

I just bought an '06 with cobra pipes, hypercharger and fi2000 with 1500 miles for $6000. the dealer that builds them new wants $8500. This guy paid $8300! I got a steal, i think!

Keep both bikes. In the end you'll be glad you did. My next bike will be an ex250 and i'm thinking about a CBR 1000rr sometime after that, but I won't give up my other bikes to get them. The right tool for the right job!
