I can't believe your wife prefers the Gixxer over the Ducati. My wife adores the looks of my bike, and Ducati superbikes overall. She thinks they are the prettiest on the street. I have to agree with her. :-)

You have to be happy with your bike. If the feel is not right and it's too much power for your use, then you're better off selling it.

Your problem is you are shifting way to soon. For break in you should'nt exceed for any long period of time 6k rpm, but MORE important you shouldn't ride it below 4k for the valves to seat. Youre riding it like a Harley. Even after broken in, 15 mph is too early to shift on that bike into second. Watch your tach more than your speedometer you'll be happier.

Try to ride between 4 and 7 or 8k rpm.

Change the way youre riding it.

Exactly I am doing now.... By the time I am ready to shift to second...I am running at 30+ MPH...most local speed limit in our area is 30-35mph....1st gear all the way

I think a 14T would fit perfectly. I have it on my 1198 and shift to second a little above 30mph when the rpm is at 3,000. So, for normal side street driving, you could get by with 1st, 2nd, and maybe 3rd.

A 14T sprocket would cost about $100 for the part and installation at Pro Italia -where you can test ride the new MV. hahaha. I'm really just kidding, you know. But, I'm going to stop by Pro Italia tomorrow to check the new MV out. (I blame Gnace for pointing it out in post #102). hahaha.

I will bring it back to Del Amo for 300 miles check up and have them do the neccessary adjustment for no extra cost. Also have 2 missing fairing screw replaced (cannot believe I did not catch that when I was there, just noticed I had 2 missing fairing screw just 3 days ago).

Probably will see you at Pro-Italia checking out MV...

..I really donno what to say while reading this...it might be the consequences of losing a 6 million US$ fixed asset in one of my power plants last week and dealing with all the shit around it but....please sell your Ducati...you will never ever be happy with the Ducati...find a nice 4L and let us know how you feel about it...some of us can read between the lines...do yourself a favor...

Something wrong with you? Which of my following comment suggested that I dislike it now or make you so upset????

I am bringing the bike back to dealer for courtesy 300 miles check up and adjustment?

or

I did not realize there were 2 missing screws on the fairing?

or

I am going to check out the MV?

..please dont take it personally..it was never ment so..but I and maybe me only? I think you will never be happy with the most beautiful ever build bike...but thats the way i see it...you and only you will decide for whatever will make you happy!
