Alright, here is what I am going to do. I will continue riding it while having it on sales. If I happen to like it later on, I will keep. If it get sold before I have time to get used to it...so be it.

If you are interested, especially in SO CAL, let me know ASAP so I will try to contact dealer hold up the paperwork for you and registered as 1st owner. You know how much this beauty cost and my asking is way below what dealer offered @ $19,500 or best offer. I also bought the 9 scheduled maintenance service @ $2300. If dealer won't take refund on this (which I think they will), I will sell for $1,500. ALL LABOR AND PARTS INCLUDED and OIL CHANGE IN BETWEEN SERVICE.

sautan,

I don't make myself out to be the smartest dude on the planet but I must take you to task for not doing your homework first. Hell, to me most of the fun of buying a new bike is research, research, and more research. Without bitch slapping you too much, what were you thinking my friend? In my case I read everything about the Ducati Superbike I could get my hands on and joined this forum and studied every thread no matter the subject for over a year before I got my bike. I even sent a few PMs to those I considered to be the more educated members asking basic questions. These guys took the time to bring me along without making me feel like a newbie. Bottom line, I was well aware of the negative aspects as well as the litany of praises that make a Ducati.....well, a Ducati.

Something else I'm doing is getting to know the bike before undertaking major modifications. That way it's a change I know I want to pursue and I'll be able to make note of the before and after differences.

My suggestion is cool your jets and do some yoga breathing. Seriously, take a step back and calm down. Keep the bike for at least 6-8 months and ride it. No need to think you're Nicky Hayden and attempt to set new records everywhere you go. Just ride the bike and get to know it. Only then can you make an intelligent and informed decision as to keeping or selling.

Best of luck!

I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time deciding if this thread is for real or just troll bait. You said you haven't ridden in 16 years and yet your signatures lists 4 bikes. Our issues with the Ducati are the typical v-twin vs. four cylinder issues, and yet your other bikes are both 4 cylinders and a v-twins. So, I find it hard to believe you didn't know what to expect with a v-twin Ducati.

BUT, if this thread is for real, yes, sell it.

Yes, all 4 bikes bought within 3 months.

First, I got the gixxer in March 2010 and a week later, we get the Aprilia Scooter. In April, I bought a used VStar for my wife. Now, I got the 1198s on impulse buy.

Which other bike is V-Twin? Aprillia is Scooter, not the sportbike.

BTW, Aprilia was an impulse buy too and have been putting on sales 2 weeks later because my wife wanted the vstar - 15 miles on the scooter like new. I know I know we messed up. Anyway, 1198S is seriously on sales and you will still get the Fast Track Promo item once DUCATI mail to me.

Your Vstar you bought your Wife is a Vtwin. I hope the 1198S finds a good home and I cant believe Del Almo didnt let you test ride. They let me take the a demo bike for a quick run.
