I'm thinking about joining the BRITISH army and i need a little advice as i don't exactly know what area i could go into. I'm a 21 year old female. My father used to be a royal marine(retired a year ago at 42years old) and he was in communications. My brother is in the artillary at the moment. I don't want to do anything too outrageous though.(don't rly wanna die, as i have a son to look after!!) i have good keyboard skills, i've been told i have good leader skills. umm.
anyone have any idea as to what area i could go into that would be good for me? or should i just go to my army careers office? (doing that anyway next week, but wanted advice on here too :))
excuse me, but we actually have the best army in the world.
And last time i checked, it was the US army that keeps killing their own god damn people, rather than the enemy.get a grip mate. YOU depend on US. we're ALWAYS saving your asses.
hehe thanks dustin :D
actually nope, you should notice that somebody was bashing my country first. I just retaliated with the truth. Let me guess...you're american?
HDH, with all respect, your country really does kill too many friendlies. In fact my parents have lost 8 close friends, 5 of which were killed in "friendly fire" so you can't give me that BS.

The british army? hahaha the brits don't really have an army. They.. as well as all the other European leech as*holes depend on us- the USA to keep them safe. Don't join, as long as the US keeps up with NATO your leech-type of lifestyle is in good hands.

"excuse me, but we actually have the best army in the world. "

You're about 300 years late on that one. I find it interesting how this went from an information-seeking post to one bashing the U.S. How mature of you.

Make sure that when you go to the army careers office, you let them know just exactly which skills you have. There are numerous operations that take place outwith the "headlining" soldiers. As in any business, there are many other important tasks that need to be done to ensure smooth running. There is every chance that you can be based in the UK, doing some kind of computer communications. The careers office is there to assess all applicants and try to fit them into the huge range of skills required to run such a huge operation. Even if you are offerred a UK based job, collating, cleaning or cooking, you will still be an important "cog" in a massive team. Sometimes folk think that the more menial tasks are un-important, yet we would not be able to function without them. I have great respect for everybody who serves in our forces, no matter what job they are doing. Good luck..

Check out the Signals or Medical Corps :)

You could also be a linguist in the Intelligence Corps. There are lots of opportunities! And don't rule out the Royal Military Police. There's a job that'll get you respect above many others.

Edit: And I'm surprised to see someone bashing the British Army. Normally they bash the Canadian Forces...I suppose I'm not surprised.

Most men with small penises have to do that to compensate.

Don't mind Michael. He's a little civilian and will remain one until he gets an attitude adjustment, judging by his recent comments.

The UK has been with us through thick and thin, when they didn't have to be, and when a lot of their own population didn't agree with it.

But we aren't constantly killing friendlies, so back off on that please. It's not something to throw around in a message board so lightly, it's rare but it's very serious and it's taken seriously when it happens.
