thinking of getting the t-mobile dash?

so im planning on upgrading from my razr to the dash. i went into the store today intending on falling in love with the blackberry pearl flip phone but i kinda like the dash better.

question: do i absolutely NEED to get web browsing/internet in order to have this phone. i know theres an added fee for the service, but say i just want the phone and dont necessarily need the internet. sure, maybe i'll try it out for the first month, but do i HAVE to have it for the internet?

and any other thoughts/opinion on the phone?
 
There's a new Dash 3G coming out. Wait for it :) I heard it's good.

In order to get a smartphone from T-Mobile, they require you to buy have a data plan. You can buy a regular phone, get service without data, then buy the phone full retail (expensive!), and pop the SIM card in.

You HAVE to have the internet if you want the price of the phone to be subsidized by T-Mobile.
