I'm thinking of doing medicine in college next year. I've always been fascinated by and interested in medicine.
Long story cut short:
I think points-wise I'll manage to get into the course. The only thing I'm unsure of is human anatomy - ie working on cadavers. I used to be quite solid - emotionally speaking - but after a stint of drug abuse (weed) and watching a live autopsy I'm not sure if my head can handle the close proximity of death.
Does one desensitise after a while? Any feedback from current or past med-students is much appreciated.
Thanks.
