Thinking of camping for some PS3's..

I hope 6 hours is early enough, cause that means I'll be like the first person there when I get to Wal-Mart 16 hours early, but I doubt either of us are that lucky. 4 pm is the latest I would recommend anyone getting to a store that starts selling at midnight. You might be alright getting to CC at 12:30 though. I bet most people are more willing to camp til 12 than overnight. I know I am. I am going to Wal-mart at 8am-midnight with 2 other people. Hoping to get three there, then heading to Target right after that to see how that line is. If no one is there by some miracle I will stay at Target and sleep in a chair. (This is of course after I drop my PS3s off.) At 7am Target will give me a ticket saying I am getting a PS3 then I am picking someone up and I am heading to K-Mart down the street until 8am, buying a PS3 then heading back to Target to pick up my PS3 from there. All in all I am looking at 6 PS3s.

A lot could go wrong though of course and I could end up with zero. I am hoping to catch Amazon's and KB Toy's release on my wireless too so that could bring it up to 7 or 8.

Anyone see any problems with that/have any suggestions to make it run smoother?

^There are like 17 cars in the K-Mart parking lot at any given moment where I live and they are all employees/old people, so if I can't get one there I will be very disappointed.

Yay!! Post #200!!

I'm going to Walmart in the morning at around 10 or so.. till midnight. Hope to grab 2 of them.

Then heading over to Kmart... Hopefully I get one here. If not then whatev.

Then heading to Toys R Us hopefully being awaited by my 2 preorders.

You can:

Wait in line at Best Buy for 2 (you and wife)

Order 2 on amazon.com at midnight from a laptop on a wireless connection while you wait..

Well, Amazon just posted on their forum that they might not get any until 2007 for all they know, so at the earliest it will be the night of the release but that's not looking good.

so will every BB, CC, Wal-Mart and KMart have a few? Or only certain stores? And with stores like WM that are open 24 hrs, you don't really "camp" outside so what do you do just mill about until midnight? I want to try to get 2 to flip, 1 at WM 1 at KMart, but dont know if I will be able to pull it off if not every store has them.

Starbucks in popular areas charge for wireless connection ( as well as Borders, etc ).

That's how it is in my area of NJ and here at school in MA. I spent a couple hours driving around with my laptop looking for a good connection. I found one near a bagel store/cafe. It's about 100 yards from Walmart.

Score.

wal-Mart will have chairs set-up for the people 'camping' out I guess. At least that is what I keep hearing. I think only some KMarts are getting PS3s, mine wont even find out until the 17th, night of the 16th the earliest.

Well, I have many options.

#1. Best Buy in Tampa is openning up at 12 Midnight on Thursday.. so I'm thinking of getting in line at 6ish after I get off of work. Wife will join me later one. BB is doing tickets. We'll both get a ticket, and purchase at midnight.

#2. Next, Circuity City in Tampa is opening up at 8AM on Friday. So after midnight, I'll go home, get something to eat, then head over to Circuit City around 2ish and get in line. Wife to join me shortly thereafter, and we'll get two more.

However, I didn't know that about Amazon. Luckily for me, I have Verizon broadband wireless - so I'll bring the laptop and buy two on the website at the same time.

Think I could make some change on ebay?

Question, If you DONT have a reserved one you can STILL "CAMP" and get 1?

Or do most stores have pretty much all reserved one forsale? A wal*mart opened up right near my house about 5 days ago and I live in a tiny town and the walmart is damn near hidden lol, so I wouldn't mind "camping" for a few $100.
