Thinking about writing a book about Jesus?

Lately I've been thinking about writing a book about the life of Jesus. Basically giving an overview of the major events in His life, adding commentary and general food for thought.

I've never written a book before, but I enjoy writing and I figured it would be good to start with something I am passionate about. I'd like some tips, preferably from other Christian authors, about the process of writing a book. Anything would be helpful, thanks in advance.

you're best off writing it off the main source of truth, the Bible. in most Bibles the text is black, but the words Jesus speaks is highlighted in either red or blue. so look for the colored text and then you can write about Jesus. The chapters Matthew, Mark, and Luke are good because Jesus speaks a lot in them.

I think this would be a good exercise for anyone, because we would have to really study His character. Many people do not....and the bible has worse stage direction than a Shakespearean play.

I remember my mom reading the epistles and gospels to us kids every evening, and sometimes, some of the things Jesus said and did made me laugh a bit, because I thought He was kind of pulling our legs now and then.

There's a book on that already called Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff

It's a great book actually, I'm an atheist and I really enjoyed it.
It was funny, but it wasn't trying to make fun of Jesus or religion at all.

There are already dozens of such books dating from the first two centuries A.D. The four "official" ones are called the "Gospels."

Based on the way that all the other books about Jesus's life were purged from the list, you have zero chance of your book being accepted. Unless you do like Joseph Smith and start your own religion based on your book.

But I guess you can always put something in there about how God told you to write it all down--that seems to work at least some of the time.

There is lot to be written about him. It is better to start doing it than just merely talk about writing it,
Countless stories and articles have been written so much about him and you have to come out with something new, controversial, awe inspiring, sensational and different to invite readers or else they will say, "So what is New?"
Good Luck!
