I am 19 years old, and I am out of High School and wanting to move on to bigger and better things. But I am not sure what I want, or how to get there (so to speak). I need the help deciding on multiple problems such as enlisted or officer, Air Force or Navy and so on. So before I ask those questions let me fill you in a little bit about myself so it will make those questions easier for those who answer. I am 19 years old, my height is 6'3, I weight 235 (Very large person, I weight lift and run 5 days out of the week). I graduated with a 3.8 GPA in High School, and received recognition for 4 years with the Air Force ROTC leaving at the rank of Cadet Captain. The only medical problems are flat feet (which do not bother me nor do I need arch supports), and an occasional peak of heart burn (But with that its obvious I would get it since it would be after two cheeseburgers and a milkshake, anyone would get heart burn). I have played football, baseball, and hockey and I am built like a tank (Just for those who are wondering if I am healthy after giving a sample of what I eat).
I am looking to "Broaden my Horizons" and go off and see things, I want to learn about mechanics and engineering, I want to excel in my life and be able to go to college with little cost. I have a girlfriend who has been with me as a friend and partner for over 6 years and we plan to wed in 1 more year (with no plans for kids in the future). I want to hear from Enlisted and Officer alike; I want to know between Air Force or Navy. I want to secure my life with my girlfriend and be financially secure later on down the road. But out of all that, I want to serve my country to the best of my ability; offer my talents and strengths while studying from those who have more experience than me. I think that either the Air Force or the Navy has what I look for, I just need some people who has information about these matters and spread the knowledge.
Thank you all for listening, and please I want intelligent answers and helpful ones. No stupid one liners like "MARINES FTW!!!!!" or "Navy sucks"; none of that is helpful or respectful.
Thank you for the answer, great answer actually. I will defiantly put it into consideration.
Thanks Greg, that was a fantastic answer. To everyone who has posted an answer, you are helping me out so much and I thank you all.
