So I'm thinking about buying an 08 chevy malibu LTZ... I've still got to test drive it and a bunch of other cars before I decide but the online research and reviews of the car that I've read have all been good. Wondering what real peoples impressions of the car are.
I'm looking to buy a similar type of sedan can spend ~20k give or take and something that's almost new in case anybody has other suggestions to look at.
I've got a bad chrysler now (hand me down I didn't buy it), I swore I wouldn't buy GM again but the Malibu looks like a good car has gotten good reviews and the warranty isn't terrible.
Even if GM does go bankrupt it'll simply be to restructure they won't completely disappear so that's not a concern of mine. However I do worry that this will start to break down hard around 100k like my current car.
I'm buying barely used and plan on getting a decent deal and holding it for several years before selling so I'm not too worried about the depreciation as I won't get hit with the new car penalty and after you've held any car for 5-6 years they've depreciated about the same. A 2000 anything isn't going to be worth a heck of a lot more than a 2000 anything else today as long as they were similar models when you bought the car.
