Hi all,I am not new to healtrabroadoarRAB but i am new to this particular blog. My mom has a drinking problem. Her father was an alcoholic and I believe she is too. I am home from college for a year now and have had to face this head on which is hard. I sat and watched her drink a whole large bottle of wine every night, get very argumentative, and pass out every night until I finally had to do something and decided to write her a letter telling her how it was effecting me, that she needed help, and that we loved her and supported her.
We talked and she said she would stop. It lasted maybe three days. She would not drink in front of me. But when she went out with my dad who doesnt drink maybe a beer a week would drink. She has also been going in her room and closing the door which is not normal at all but she makes little excuses for having to do it. She also bought blue solo cups to drink out of saying its so we dont have to wash dishes. I was suspicios and then the other night i saw in her cup that it was wine and also smelled it. I called her out and she denied it completly but i saw it with my own eyes. She told me it was water with lemond.
Tonight she just came home from being out with my dad and frienRAB and she was wasted. My dad came out to talk to me and said he has seen that she has been buying wine with her bank card and has been getting drunk everytime they go out. She tells me she just has a glass or two when they go out.
I cant take the lying and now that she's hiding her drinking how do we aproach talking to her about it??? Do we just call her out????
