I have been dealing with anxiety for about 4 years now. I have had alot of physical symptoms and have had alot of testing done with most results coming back normal. I do have some vitamin def. that I am dealing with. The symptom that interfers with my daily life is muscle tension and pain. I have this everyday with some days being better than others. Constant pain in my upper back, shoulders, and neck which also radiates to my head. I think I may have a thyroid problem as well but I am at a stanRABtill with that right now with my Dr.

I still do my daily routine but it is hard. I'm always tired or nervous or in pain, you know the cycle. I feel like I am missing out in enjoying life with my children and husband because of this. I do the activites but it takes everything in me. I was wondering with those of you that do take AD if it does turn your life around? Does anyone struggle with the constant muscle tension, does that go away also? Anyone with similiar experiences care to share with me? I am very scared to start medication but I am tired of living life this way also.

HI....

LOL....OH!!! Yeah...that I know lol...I didnt read it right and I hate when there are so many abreviations to everything. But to pespond a little better now, yes I do think AD's help with tension and tension heaRAB, muscle achs due to being so tensed up all the time. You should get your tyroid checked to if thats bothering you with all this. I no longer take an AD, but I have. I think they are just a bandaid to cover up everything that is bothering you and putting it under the rug instead of facing your problems on your own. On the other hand they work great for short-term use as well and can help alot of other things that may be going on with you as well. Good luck and hope you get everything figured out!! Post as many times as you'd like to!:D
God bless

I've taken medication before. I came out on the other side a mess. It was horrid. It took me 9 months to recover. As far as I'm concerned it's poison and I do agree with the previous response that it covers up the underlying issues. I have concluded that the ability to tolerate suffering and manage the mind and body is a skill, one you have to learn if you're going to truly control your life and gain your freedom. Eckhart Tolle speaks of the manner in which human beings deal with their lives......resist, judge, resist, judge!! You're clearly under stress, likely much of it created by your mind. Your mind creates fear, you resist and your body reacts, you then judge the situation as "bad" and try and take control thus feeding the cycle. What I recommend you do is begin to take a moment each day to be completely still. Allow that moment to then become five, and then 10, and then maybe 5 minutes and then 15 minutes.

You're clearly tense. I know what this feels like, I deal with it every day. When you're like this it means that your body is not relaxed, you're constantly in a state of fight or flight because your mind is generating all manner of imaginings and fears. Your mind controls you. Going into a state of non-activity forces you into the present. You can then begin to identify where your mind has control of you and how it is controlling your body and driving you into the ground. Relax! Force your body into submission by ceasing activity for brief perioRAB each day. If you can only manage a minute without your mind taking off again then settle for that and go back to it again when possible. The human mind is controllable but you have to empower the higher parts of your consciousness to come to the front and get control. Force the mind and the body into submission by eliminating inputs and meditating.

You will begin to find that there is a part of you that is you but not you. Eckhart Tolle calls this the unobserved observer. You will begin to awaken consciousness and when that happens you will begin to destroy the unconsciousness that currently controls you. This is a process that could take years. I've been at this for years and still struggle every day. Do not resist and do not judge. Observe your body and your mind, move into a state of acceptance of your current being, and begin to allow yourself a break and some peace. It's funny. Peace is so easy once you get there, it's the getting there that's the challenge.

You might ask your doctor about using a muscle relaxer. That would alleviate some of the problems with your back, shoulders, and neck. It may be that if you could get relaxed you might not be so anxious. Muscle relaxers can be addictive so don't overdo. Sincerely, searchin

Thank you all for your replys. I have tried muscle relaxers and do not like the way I feel the next day after taking them. I have recently started up yoga again and that does feel really good when you are at a state of relaxation. I will keep pushing on.
