I had nerve block injections awhile ago have never been the same since. I feel like my life is ruined. Everyday after the morning passes & have horrible pain, have to take a pain pill that I never wanted to be taking. I can't do anything, go places w/my husband etc. I really feel instead of injecting next to the nerve he injected into it by mistake. Of course he will never admit this but from research it seems like it. Anyone heard of this?

Gram I believe this happened to me. Do you have alot of deep burning or cramping from the pain? Also if you have any other symptoms no matter how strange they may be, please list them and I might be able to help you.

Everday I would have horrible pain coming from right lower back to leg, so bad I would have to take a pain killer & not do anything. Well I thought about how the chiro got rid of my horrible groin pain by putting me on a stretching machine so I did some research & sent for a small back stretcher. I got it yesterday & tried it & could feel my back & leg stretching. So far it is the 2nd day I have not had to take any pain killers & don't have any pain. I'm very happy w/this & hope it continues.

I do hope this will solve you pain problems. I am afraid it didn't work for me. I bought a inversion table, it is one you lay on and get your feet clamped in then it pivots right up to upside down if you want. But I found it only feels a little better later after it feels worse first. So I had to lay in bed strait after warRAB for about an hour then it seems to help a little. I have found that doing hamstring stretches work better if I do them just in bed at night. That seems to settle my restless legs and spasms at night but I usually have to take a muscle relaxant as well when they are worst, that is about every second night or more.
Anyhow that is just me but I hope you are getting some relief and have cut down on pain killers. I wish I could. I am in need of an operation though so couldn't really compare myself to you.
Bye then. Allan

At one point I ALSO HAD HORRIBLE PAIN IN MY GROIN but when I was trying anything & everything a chiro put me on a stretching machine & that went away thank God. I have had PT & acupuncture too only made it worse & if anyone tried the tens unit on me w/the elec shocks it affected me so bad. I do what I can in the AM w/not alot of pain but still there then as the morining goes on my leg starts to hurt alot when I walk then lower back around to front, thats when I'm done for the day. I go to him next thurs want an explanation why it got 10x's worse after what he did. Funny I wasn't gonna have it done canceled 1st time since it didn't feel that bad & thought maybe it was getting better by itself then my daughter talked me into it & I made another appt to get it done. Wish I had listened to myself! I am also badly constipated. Want to also ask about the free floating piece of disc I have. Thanks for helping.

I didn't get the inversion table, had one once didn't like it bothered my ankles. I got one from Brookstone, only $40 something, small sits on floor. When I use it I can feel all the muscles in my back ,stomach & legs stretching & it feels so good. So far so good has taken away the terrible pain so it's liveable. I read what a man had to say about it on these boarRAB & contacted him.

It may not have anything to do with the injection. Perhaps things have changed in your spine and you have to be reassessed. Just because you have had an injection it does not mean that another disc has herniated or an other problem hasn't arisen. A reassessment is in order. Make sure that you have it checked out. Anytime therapy is making you worse as my doctor stated so aptly "STOP IT"

Yes I felt my ankles where a bit crushed and taking all the weight and uncomfortable so it is not as good as I thought, maybe if I wore some boots or something but I'm not sure so I haven't used it much. I am not sure if this sort of thing could be of any help to my back now and I don't want to do any damage for sure.
I haven't had any injections either as I am not sure that the results are worth the pain and stress that the injections put me through. I have had many injections over the last 6 years and as much as they may have helped me earlier on I don't think it is worth the distress now. The other issue is if you do have one doctor who gives the injections regularly or if you are getting a random doctor at an imaging centre.

I had a nerve root block injection at L5 and it took 3 goes for the doctor to get the needle into the nerve space and that was CT guided, and afterwarRAB I was in a lot more pain than usual with pain that started in a spot on that side of my butt against the pelvice. The pain has lasted for a few months and seemed to set off the sciatica I now have. But I have also started to have similar pain on the other side so I think I would have had this problem eventually. The surgeon I saw since then showed me the nerve space was much reduced than it should be and on both sides along with another level with me. So I think the doctor stirred things up but it would have got worse in time anyway.
I am not saying that yours would have ended up this way anyhow but the reason for it may have been because of the reduced space possibly.
